New toon soon!

New toon soon! (and variations thereof) is a main page message used by The Brothers Chaps to inform visitors that an anticipated site update is delayed.

From 2002 through 2009, homestarrunner.com was typically updated on Monday mornings with a new toon or Strong Bad Email. These new toons would be indicated by a Main Page Message, such as "new cartoon!" or "halloween toon!". If the expected toon was not ready to release on Monday morning (or on another day of the week, such as a holiday), the "soon" message would be posted instead. "Soon" typically meant the toon would be released later the same day or on the next day. The exception was recent Halloween toons, which made use of special teasers and frequently took several additional days for their full release.

The Main Page messages were essentially deprecated in favor of index page messages during the post-Flash site update on December 31, 2020. Main page messages no longer use unique "new" text, instead simply pointing towards "latest toon" without indicating if it is new. As Homestar Runner is only "updated every Someday", it is unlikely that a "new toon soon!" main page message will be used again.
