The Bar in Strong Bad is a Bad Guy

The Bar has appeared in a few different toons. It seems to always feature Cold Ones or 'old ones and a bowl of peanuts on the table. It has a dartboard and a LEMKE pennant on the wall. Stairs are visible through one door, so it might be in a basement, or it might have a second story. It serves as the meeting place for the Broternal Order of Different Helmets.

Its second Flash appearance in Summer Short Shorts was almost identical to its first in the Theme Song Video, with an updated look to the bar and the characters.

In the DVD commentaries for Summer Short Shorts and Ever and More, the Brothers Chaps suggest that the bar is in Pom Pom's basement, referring to it as his "rumpus room".

Rich Trott is a composer and playtester for Dangeresque: The Roomisode Triungulate.

Throughout December 2022, Rich Trott reinterpreted the daily songs from the Decemberweenvent Calendar "sorta mostly in the style of the soundtrack to A Charlie Brown Christmas by the Vince Guaraldi Trio" and shared them on Twitter (@trott), most were retweeted by @StrongBadActual. In May 2023, Strong Bad tweeted a jazz/funk remix of the theme from Strong Bad is in Jail Cartoon as a teaser for Dangeresque Roomisode 2: The Intersection of Doom & Boom; he then retweeted Trott's remix of the song, and challenged him to "jazz-interpret (a) little song I made up as I was reading the instructions for this shelf". Trott responded with multiple covers of the song.

In August 2023, Rich Trott's Decemberweenvent Calendar covers of Stave It Off and Strong Bad is a Bad Guy were used in Dangeresque: The Roomisode Triungulate. The game's soundtrack was released later that month, containing 13 new arrangements of the music by Rich Trott, in addition to the two tracks that were used in the game.

Trott has been a Node.js maintainer since 2015. He started the practice of using fhqwhgads in the code base when an arbitrary string or variable name is called for.

8-bit is enough , right?

• The scrolling road is like a daytime version of Nighttime Driving Type Game from Strong Bad's Message Bored.
• In the .swf, an 8-bit mouse cursor is visible outside the frame. This could possibly be from a scrapped idea to have a "custom cursor" in this page.

Goofs

The plane isn't low. It's just in the foreground.

• The wing of the airplane will pass over any action happening in The Field. The only thing it does not pass over is Homestar Runner's head.
• After Strong Bad runs across the screen when the cursor rolls over "E-mail", the Flash file restarts itself, causing the What's New, Main Page, and Weeklies links to disappear for one frame and the What's New button cycle to restart.

Inside References

• Strong Bad's line is a reference to Homestar Runner's line from the first deleted scene from In Search Of The Yello Dello DVD.

Real-World References

• The sound effects for the "Games" and "E-mail" buttons are taken from the Atari 2600 games Combat and Seaquest.
• The sound effect for the "Characters" button is from the Atari 2600 game Pitfall!, when Pitfall Harry would collect a gold bar, diamond ring, etc.
• The effect when Strong Bad disappears is from Pac-Man for the Atari 2600. The first sound effect made on the "Downloads" button is the sound Pac-Man makes when eating a pellet.

Fast Forward

• Strong Bad calling a dragon chasing him a "Freaking Duck" would later be redone with Trogdor as the Downloads mouseover effect for Main Page 27.

The Map of Peasantry

Peasantry serves as the primary setting of the Videlectrix games Peasant's Quest and (presumably) TROGDOR!, as well as the board game Trogdor!! The Board Game. It is a medieval land mainly filled with peasants, archers, and knights, though creatures such as the dragon Trogdor, the ogre-like Kerrek, and the primitive Jhonka also abound. Most of the peasants reside in small thatched-roof cottages, many of which have been burninated by Trogdor. Its name is based on the land of Daventry, from the King's Quest games by Sierra.

History

The history of Peasantry is a dark one indeed. For untold ages, the chivalrous realm of Pageantry (the kingdom that owns Scalding Lake) had been at war with their adjacent neighbor, the deplorable kingdom of Bigotry. Their borderlands were a permanent battlefield, and those unfortunate peasants caught in the midst of it all did their best to eke out an existence while the war raged around them. Eventually, just before the Age of Trogdor, the land on which the armies fought became so ravaged and war-torn that neither side would claim it. With no realm to call their own, the peasants of the borderlands grumbled together a meager government and began calling themselves the kingdom of Peasantry.

In the early days, life was simple and happy. Baby ladies stole money. Creepy old men fished in the lakes. The Jhonka, a troll-like being that lived in a cave, hoarded its treasure. A vile giant known as the Kerrek invaded the land, squashing all who trespassed his fields. Then, a dragon known as Trogdor the Burninator came. Trogdor ravaged fields, squashed peasants, destroyed huts, and spread burnination all over the land. Ever since this day, while most of the peasants of Peasantry have lived in peace with Trogdor for centuries, some people did indeed live in fear.

It is revealed in the Peasant's Quest Movie Trailer that Peasantry has a monarchy—namely, the heretofore nameless King of Peasantry. There is another place called Parchmenty, a few kingdoms over in the "uppity, know-it-all realm" of Frillscholar.
