Manolios Ugly One
"I gut you like sheep."
Manolios Ugly One is The Ugly One's father. Manolios is a fat, middle-aged man with thinning curly hair and a beard, and wears tan pants and a stained tank top shirt.
He is the owner of Manolios Ugly One's Lectro-pawn, a pawn shop specializing in used and broken electronic goods. Manolios has a flair for sales, despite his stock being somewhat less than functional; he showcases a broken VCR and a smashed VHS tape in his Easter egg "commercial" for Lectro-pawn. He has muttered (in tiny letters) "or something like that" after his sales pitches.
In Teen Girl Squad Issue 15 Manolios is revealed to have a somewhat protective side for his daughter, as he threatens to "gut [[[D n' D Greg]]] like sheep" if he does anything out of line to The Ugly One. Although D n' D Greg does not give him any reason to, Manolios makes good on his threat soon afterwards. In true Manolios fashion, however, he tries to sell D n' D Greg a half-stereo for "two seventy-five" before gutting him.
Fun Facts
- In the commentary for Teen Girl Squad Issue 10, Matt Chapman revealed that the character's name is taken from the Manolios, a tour boat that he and his wife Jackie rode during their vacation to the Greek isle of Santorini.
- Strong Bad's "controversial fan theory" that Manolios is a grown-up version of Dooble (of Two More Eggs fame) was posted to Twitter on May 23, 2022.
