"Coach Z's hair is funny looking."
Although no longer in style, one does not have to look too hard to find a character sporting an afro. Coach Z seems to have enjoyed having one back in the '70s.

- First Time Here? — Homestar Runner sometimes wears a clown costume, which has an orange afro.
- TV Time Toons Menu — The Joy of Painting Easter egg shows Marzipan dressed as Bob Ross.
- Email ghosts — The Cheat wears an afro as part of his Ghostbuster costume.
- 3 Times Halloween Funjob — Homestar is dressed as John McEnroe.
- John McEnroe is also referenced in Some Extras, Senorial Day, and Where's an Egg?.
- Halloween Fairstival — Strong Mad is dressed as Ben Wallace, wearing an afro.
- Sketchbook 2005 — The sketch for March 25, 2005 features Stinkoman with an afro.
- Email monument — Strong Bad's monument has an afro wig on it.
- Email myths & legends — One of the Seven Elemental Spirits of Strong Badia is a fish with an afro wig.
- Happy Hallow-day — The skull sprouts a rainbow afro.
- Jibblies 2 — Coach Z is dressed as the So So Def Recordings Afroman logo.
- Trudgemank — Peacey P's studio appears adorning an afro.
- Hremail 62 — Homestar shows off a brellow crayon drawing of the Sun with an afro, known as "Sol Soul".
