Transcript

{While music plays with The Cheat's mumblings serving as the only lyrics, various drawings of The Cheat flash in a box in the middle of the screen. Lots of smaller The Cheat drawings are seen in the background. The Cheats in the background eventually turn around and upside-down in time to the music. Then the background flashes several colors, and the box with the main The Cheat drawings bounces and moves around the screen in time to the music. It finally returns to the center as the song ends with "done." written in it, and the background completely black. "back" and "do'gain?" appear below.}

Trivia

• There are 536 frames altogether; however, 36 of these frames are the beginning "loading" screen and the "done" screen at the end. Each frame that isn't a "loading" or a "done" screen contains one The Cheat (not counting the background); therefore, there are exactly 500 The Cheats.
• There are 407 The Cheats in the background, including ones partially covered by the border or occasionally obscured by the center box.
  • Including the The Cheats visible off to the sides of the screen (when viewing the Flash file), the total number of The Cheats is equal to 480, bringing the total number of visible The Cheats in the Flash file to 980.
• All of The Cheats go in the order of the background from left to right.
• Most of the Flash movies on the site display at an average of 12 frames per second. This toon seems to display something closer to 18 frames a second.
• None of The Cheat drawings exactly match the ghosted The Cheat from the Easter egg.

Remarks

• Some of the drawings of The Cheat look similar to his old Mario Paint version.

Goofs

• The "The" is not capitalized in the page title, even though it should be, since it's part of The Cheat's name.
• The description in the Toons Menu misspells "shimmy" as "shimmie".

Fixed Glitches

Toons Menu glitch

• Originally, playing the toon right from the Toons Menu caused the Flash file to appear straight on the menu. Once The Cheats in the background started to move, they sometimes exceeded the black borders and covered the Toons Menu. This was fixed later in the day.

Inside References

• The page title, "A-Lotsa the Cheatsa!", is the second use of "Cheatsa", the first being the Cheatsa Parties Easter egg in mile.
• The drum loop used in this short is almost identical to that used in the Theme Song Video.
• The background used (and the movement thereof) in this is reminiscent of a clip in the The Cheat Theme Song video.
• The phrase "shimmie and shake" in the Toons Menu description is a reference to 20X6 vs. 1936, where Old-Timey Homestar tells Stinkoman how to dance.

DVD Version

• The Easter egg is accessible by using the angle button.
• The DVD version features hidden creators' commentary. To access it, switch the DVD player's audio language selection while watching.

MIKE: Ryan, tell them what we did.

RYAN: You guys drew The Cheat five hundred times.

MIKE: How long did it take? It was maybe... two weeks or something, week and a half?

MATT: Yeah, just did it every once—when we thought of it—

MIKE: Just sit down and draw.

MATT: We're really bad at drawing The Cheat, apparently. We were all over the map!

RYAN: Was it easier than a million free throws, Mike?

MIKE: Uh, slightly. A million free throws would take a year of shooting thirty-three hundred free throws a day, roughly.

Fun Facts

• Mike is mistaken; to shoot a million free throws in a year, it would take approximately 2,740 free throws per day (or about 2,733 per day on a leap year).
