STRONG BAD: It's Strong Bad, back once again with more {opening titles enter, music begins} Skills of an Artist! And today we're going to draw a squeedly guitar! And you know what that means! Absolutely NO rounded corners, so...
STRONG BAD: {singing} Oh, tap your toes and check your email, oh a-tap your toes tonight... {stops singing}

{Strong Bad's dialogue is punctuated with metal-on-metal scraping sounds as he draws four points forming a jagged guitar shape}
<blockquote>Hey Strong Bad whats up?<br />
<br />
Can you play the Guitar?<br />
<br />
Derek Highet<br />
Northern California</blockquote>
{Strong Bad has some trouble pronouncing the surname &quot;Highet,&quot; saying, &quot;Hig-het. Uh, hey, hi, hi-het {with the second &quot;h&quot; said with a Spanish accent}, hiyet—hi-yet.&quot;}

STRONG BAD: Sharp! Sharp! Sharp! SHAAARP! Look at that dangerous instrument!
{Throughout the email, Strong Bad types every syllable he sings.}

{Strong Bad begins on the neck, drawing a horizontal line away from the guitar.}
STRONG BAD: Hey, Derek. Not much, man. Yeah I can play the guitar. I know all about virtuosos {pause} and trembalos {pause} and arpeggios. {pause} I can do it all. {clears screen} I can play your basic rhythm guitar, like... {singing} jug jigga jug jigga jug jigga jug jigga jug jigga JAH JAH, jiggidy jug jigga jug jigga jug jigga jug jigga jug jigga JAH JAAH! {stops singing} You know, something like that. I can also play some pretty hott lixx, too. You know the kind that are just way up high on the tiny strings and you mash your fingers on 'em. {screen clears. Strong Bad starts singing} meedley meedley meedley meedley meedley meedley meedley meedley meedley meedley meedley meedley MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. {stops singing, starts typing faster} Yeah, yeah and then Strong Mad comes in on his bass and he's like, {singing} dou dow da dou da da DOU da dou da dou dou dou {screen clears. Strong Bad stops singing} and The Cheat comes in on his keyboards and he's like boop boop boop boop boop boop boop boop boop boop boop boop boop boo and then I'm like &quot;And the dragon comes in the {loud voice} NIIIiiiiIIIiiiiIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiiiIIIIIIIIiiiIIGGHH—

STRONG BAD: Okay, now let's go and do the neck of the guitar.
{Strong Bad falls out of his chair.}

{Strong Bad adds a jagged edge on the end of the neck}
STRONG BAD: Augh... Oh yeah!

STRONG BAD: And then the head stock should be something else jagged like a...
{Strong Bad sticks up his arm up from the bottom of the screen and lights the BMW lighter as people do at rock concerts. The Paper comes down. After a short time, the lighter singes The Paper.}

{Strong Bad adds a jagged edge below and draws another horizontal line to close up the neck}
<span id="fun-facts"></span>
<span class="mw-headline"> Fun Facts </span>
STRONG BAD: Oh, look at that, it's like a lightning bolt! All the best guitarists play guitars with like, SO many frets.
<span id="explanations"></span>
<span class="mw-headline">Explanations</span>
{Strong Bad draws vertical lines inside the neck from right to left to form frets.}
* A &quot;virtuoso&quot; is a person who is exceptionally skilled at playing a musical instrument.
* &quot;Trembalo&quot; is a distortion of tremolo, a &quot;trembling&quot; effect created by rapidly repeating the same or two similar musical notes.
* An &quot;arpeggio&quot; is a chord broken into its notes, played quickly in sequence.
* A &quot;lick&quot; (referred to as &quot;hott lixx&quot;) is a short series of notes used in a solo or riff, commonly for guitar in a rock setting.

STRONG BAD: So let's put on as many frets as we can on this here neck. So many notes to squeal! {he finishes} All the frets in the world!
<span id="trivia"></span>
<span class="mw-headline">Trivia</span>
{Strong Bad draws a pocket shape in the center of the body near the left edge}
* This is the first appearance of the BMW lighter.
* This is the first toon to be uploaded to Homestar Runner's YouTube channel.
* The YouTube description for this email is &quot;Strong Bad shows off his guitar skills.&quot;

STRONG BAD: And then, over here, we got the little thing where you put the strings in, you know.
<span id="goofs"></span>
<span class="mw-headline">Goofs</span>
{He adds a small shape to the right of it}
* The number of &quot;jug jigga&quot;s and &quot;meedley&quot;s typed does not match up to the number of &quot;jug jigga&quot;s and &quot;meedley&quot;s Strong Bad sings.
* Between &quot;bass&quot; and &quot;and&quot;, there are two spaces.
* Before Strong Bad starts typing the meedlies and the juggas, there is no sound when he switches the screen.
* Strong Bad starts typing &quot;NIIIiiiiIIIiiiiIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiiiIIIIIIIIiiiIIGGHH&quot; about a second before he starts singing it.
* When Strong Bad types &quot;virtuosos&quot;, there is a period in the cursor. When Strong Bad hits enter, the period is gone.

STRONG BAD: Here's a, um... humbucker...
<span id="fast-forward"></span>
<span class="mw-headline">Fast Forward</span>
{He adds another}
* &quot;And the dragon comes in the night&quot; is used again as &quot;And the Trogdor comes in the night&quot; in the Trogdor song in dragon and Trogdor in Strong Bad's CD, Strong Bad Sings and Other Type Hits.
** This phrase is further referenced at the end of the Peasant's Quest Movie Trailer.
** The word &quot;meedley&quot; is also used to describe one of the &quot;wicked dueling guitar solos&quot; in Trogdor.
* There are some more &quot;Jug Jiggas&quot; during the long Flash intro on Strong Bad's Website.
* Strong Mad plays the bass in the toon Cool Things.
* Strong Bad's &quot;Meedly Meedly...&quot; line is downloadable in the Strong Bad Quotes Pack from the Downloads page.
* In an Easter egg in email death metal, What's Her Face asks Cheerleader if she came to see Brainkrieg. Cheerleader replies, &quot;I come for the wuggas, but stay for the jiggy juggas.&quot;
* In the paper, Strong Bad ignites The Paper with his BMW Lighter and then sings, &quot;And The Paper goeth into the niiIIiiIIiiIIght!&quot;
* The &quot;meedley&quot; line is reused in Baddest of the Bands Teen Girl Squad Meets Limozeen, but some other lyrics are added.
* In Dangeresque Roomisode 1: Behind the Dangerdesque, Dangeresque exclaims, &quot;And the Kung-Fu Dragon Chinese Takeout comes in the niiiight! (they're open late)&quot;.

STRONG BAD: And a nunchucker, {adds another} and a... cloud... stucker.
<span id="dvd-version"></span>
<span class="mw-headline"> DVD Version </span>
{Cut to Strong Bad adding a series of circles along the bottom of the body from left to right}

STRONG BAD: Sure, I'll put some knobs down here.

{He adds shading to the knobs, going right to left}
(Commentary by: Mike Chapman, Matt Chapman)

STRONG BAD: And let's make them a little bit 3D, just give 'em a little Zshoop on the back there. Zshoop. Zshoop 3D. Zshoop 3D! Look at that. Zshoop 3D, the Strong Bad way! And now, my favorite part of the squeedly guitar, the whammy bar!
MIKE: This email is titled Guitar.

{Strong Bad draws a line from the pocket in the center down outside the body.}
MATT: It's near and dear to our hearts.

STRONG BAD: But this thing is like a four-pronged whammy bar!
MIKE: We grew up reading Guitar for the Practicing Musician and Guitar World and Metal Edge, and um...

{As he speaks, Strong Bad draws four lines ending in rectangles, starting with the bottom and ending at the top}
MATT: Or rather, our brother Donnie read all of them.

STRONG BAD: Look at this thing. {Strong Bad makes a series of motorized speed noises}
MIKE: {simultaneously} Hit Parade, Circus Magazine...

{Strong Bad points to the whammy bar key on the bottom}
MATT: Kerrang!.

STRONG BAD: This one goes, waoh-waoh-waoh-waoh-waoh.
MIKE: Yeah.

{Strong Bad points to the second from the bottom}
MATT: {simultaneously} RIP. Remember the RIP?

STRONG BAD: This one when you shake it it goes RRREEEOOOOOOOWWW!
MIKE: I think that's, that's all of them. That's so, yeah, we um... {short pause} we knew all about virtuosos and arpeggios.

{Strong Bad points to the second from the top}
{Matt laughs}

STRONG BAD: This one goes BREAH-druluhm-WAOOOH.
MIKE: And trembolos. I took guitar in 8th grade. I didn't, I was never very good, though.

{Strong Bad points to the top key}
MATT: Yeah. This one goes out to all those dudes that lurk around the guitar shop and won't go away, and all I want to do is buy some strings and maybe a pick and they make

STRONG BAD: And this one goes &quot;whemp&quot;. You know what I'm talking about? In squeedly guitar songs when they just go... &quot;whemp&quot;.
MIKE: They make—

{Strong Bad adds a perspective line to the body of the guitar on the top left.}
MATT: —me feel really intimidated and want to leave. So now, it seems like this actually appealed to- we got a lot of, it seemed to get circulated over- among, like, tab sites and sites that like guitar.

STRONG BAD: All right, let's add a little 3D-ness over here.
MIKE: Tab and, like, Diet Coke and—

{Strong Bad adds a perspective line to the bottom edge overlapping the whammy bar}
MATT: Tablatures, Mike!

STRONG BAD: Some depth to our guitar. Okay. Thing's coming out.
MIKE: Oh, oh, oh!

{Strong Bad adds a perspective line to the right edge, not overlapping the neck}
MATT: It's a term!

STRONG BAD: Right into the real world, looking so good. And, now we need some—
MIKE: I thought you were talking about die—diet sodas.

{Strong Bad adds four circles on the outer perspective edge on the guitar's base}
MATT: It's a guitar term. {pause} There you go, and of course, that later becomes a part of Trogdor, the song called Trogdor from website homestar.com.

STRONG BAD: —inputs and outputs back here. Kay, four of them.
MIKE: There's the first appearance of the BMW lighter.

{He draws the first plug on the top with a cord leading to the left off-page}
MATT: Watch as it burns the paper! So burns.

STRONG BAD: This one goes to the amp.

* Guitar World, Metal Edge, Kerrang!, RIP and Circus Magazine are (or were) all music magazines. Hit Parade possibly refers to Hit Parader.

* Tab was the first diet soda produced by the Coca-Cola Company.
STRONG BAD:This one goes to... {he adds the cord, curving downwards} the stage.
* Guitar Tablature is a shorthand method of writing out music for the guitar, which specifies fingering but not specific pitch or length of notes.

{He draws the third plug}

STRONG BAD: This one goes straight to {he adds the cord, also curving downwards} the Grammys.

{He adds the fourth}

STRONG BAD: And this one goes to, uh... {he draws the cord in tightly, curving down and around the guitar edge} the gold records. Straight to the gold records. Oh man, this thing looks ready to squeal!

{The drawing rotates back and fourth on the page while the lines remain stationary as Strong Bad scats.}

STRONG BAD: {singing} Squeedly-squaw squeedly-squaw squeedly-squaw squeedly-squaw {guitar pulsing on the last note} squeedly-squaaaaaaw!

{Designs appear on the guitar body as Strong Bad rapidly calls them out.}

STRONG BAD: Skull witch! Devil dog! Evil wizard! {The drawing rotates and pulses again} SQUEEDLY-SQUAW! {pulse} Whemp.
