>Hey Strong Bad,
>
>Do you ever do TV commercials for
>Monster Truck Shows? I think you
>would be great for the voiceovers.
>
>Your devoted fans,
>
>Stan and Loretta
STRONG BAD: Aww...that's very sweet. {typing} Look Dan and Linda, Strong Bad doesn't sell out to anybody, man. No matter how monstrous their truck show may or may not be. Though I have done the occasional promo for the events we hold in Strong Badia. In fact, I think there's one coming up this...
{Cut to a monster-truck show promo-style segment. The words Strong Bad says appear on the screen}
STRONG BAD: {voiceover} SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SOMEDAY!
{Two tires cross the screen diagonally, with Strong Bad providing the "vroom" noises for them}
STRONG BAD: {voiceover} IT'S AWEXOME {pronounced "awesome"} CROSS 98!
{Awexome Cross logo appears, and the scene cuts to Strong Badia. Another tire appears and screeches away to cut to the Strong Badia national flag}
STRONG BAD: {voiceover} LIVE IN STRONGBADIA!
{Cut to The Cheat wearing a jumpsuit and waving.}
STRONG BAD: {voiceover} THRILL! AS THE CHEAT ATTEMPTS TO JUMP THE TIRE OVER THE KOT EATING A CARDBOARD BOX COVERED IN SYRUP!
{The Cheat is shown rolling inside the tire as it rolls up a ramp. Cut to the King of Town, in the process of eating a cardboard box with maple syrup and a pat of butter on it.}
THE KING OF TOWN: This is some good cake!
{Cut to Strong Mad holding Marzipan's guitar over Homestar, who is wearing a helmet and knee pads.}
STRONG BAD: {voiceover} CHILL! AS STRONG MAD SMASHES MARZIPAN'S GUITAR OVER HOMESTAR'S HEAD!
HOMESTAR RUNNER: Let's do this like Brutus.
STRONG BAD: {voiceover} RECOIL IN HORROR!
{Strong Mad raises the guitar. As he starts to bring it down, cut to the Poopsmith tossing out multicolored smoke bombs.}
STRONG BAD: {voiceover} AS THE POOPSMITH LIGHTS SOME SMOKE BOMBS! AND THEN?
{Several silhouetted pieces of whatsit and a question mark appear on screen.}
STRONG BAD: YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO BE THERE TO FIND OUT!
{The Poopsmith winks at the camera.}
STRONG BAD: {voiceover} ADULT ADMISSION IS STILL JUST FIVE DOLLARS! KIDS AND OLD PEOPLE—
{The Sad Kids and the King of Town appear on screen, then are respectively crossed out}
STRONG BAD: {voiceover} NOT ALLOWED WITHOUT A BUCKET OF FRIED CHICKEN—
{A bucket of KnF'nC chicken appears onscreen.}
STRONG BAD: {voiceover} FOR MEEEEE!
{An image of Strong Bad appears.}
STRONG BAD: {voiceover, with changes in pitch between words} STICK AROUND... AFTER THE SHOW... FOR A FREE PERFORMANCE... BY LIMOZEEN!
{Cut to a photo of Limozeen}
LIMOZEEN: {singing} I've got the heart of a lion and the wings of a bat, because it's midnite!
{Cut back to the Compy 386 and Strong Bad}
STRONG BAD: {singing} Heart of a lion, wings of some stuff, because it's something! {stops singing} Oh-ho man, I love that song! {typing} I can't wait for this sunday {pause} sunday {pause} someday.
{The Paper comes down.}

Fun Facts
Trivia
- This is the first email to include The Poopsmith in person (he was only on a playing card in your friends).
- The YouTube description for this email is "Awexome Cross 98! This SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SOMEDAY! Limozeen drops they numba one jam 'Because, It's Midnite' on an unsuspecting public!"
Remarks
- For some reason, in the picture of Limozeen, there are four extra hands floating around the band members. One is in front of Perry and Larry, one behind Perry, one behind Gary and the last one behind Larry.
- In the "Awexome Cross" ad and the "someday" Easter egg, the bass player plays his first note a step too high, then corrects himself on the second beat.
- As with a few other cartoons on the website, the King of Town is oddly using an older design for this email.
- The Paper comes down slightly faster than most other emails.
- Strong Bad doesn't capitalize either Sunday when he types them.
- The King of Town apparently had to give Strong Bad a bucket of chicken to get in, despite the fact that he is part of the show.
Goofs
- The shadow of the fence starts a fair distance out from the fence itself, and the shadow for the end of the fence is strangely jagged.
Inside References
- "Toons! Games! I'm gonna check my eeeemail..." is a reference to the Main Pages.
- Strong Bad calls one of the email's authors "Dan" instead of "Stan".
- The King of Town's syrup-covered cardboard box is another example of eating non-food items.
- This is the first time Guns N' Roses is referenced.
- A KnF'nC bucket of chicken appears in the toon.
Real-World References
- A loud voice booming "Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!" or any word repeated, as if an echo, is a commonly mocked style of advertising used for monster truck races. It was first popularized by announcer Jan Gabriel.
- The jumpsuit The Cheat is wearing is similar to the jumpsuit worn by the famous daredevil Evel Knievel during his famous motorcycle jumps. However, in design (specifically, the red and blue head-to-toe piping with stars) it is actually closer to the jumpsuit worn by hapless stuntman Super Dave Osborne. The image of The Cheat inside the tire is also a possible allusion to one of Super Dave's more famous (and disastrous) stunts, where he rode in the center of a giant yo-yo.
- The bottles of maple syrup around the cardboard box are designed similarly to those of Mrs. Butterworth's, a famous syrup brand.
- The line "Let's do this like Brutus" comes from a skit on the De La Soul album "De La Soul Is Dead", itself a reference to the track Bring The Noise, where the phrase "We can do this like Brutus." is spoken by Flavor Flav.
- The chicken bucket that says "KnF'nC" is a reference to Guns N' Roses, who used the abbreviation "GnF'nR" during the Use Your Illusion era. The 2000-2004 incarnation of the band contained guitarist Buckethead, who wears a KFC bucket on his head like a hat.
Fast Forward
- The Limozeen song "Because, It's Midnite" would eventually appear on the Strong Bad Sings CD.
- The King of Town would later hold the chicken bucket in Halloween Potion-ma-jig.
- "Awexome Cross 98" is available on the current game menu with more levels.
- In Strong Badia the Free, a surprisingly eloquent Homsar utters the phrase "Let's do this like Brutus" after Strong Bad temporarily gains the ability to understand his "language".

Commentary Transcript
(Commentary by: Matt Chapman, Mike Chapman)
MATT: We were just discussing, uh, how there are some Strong Bad Emails that really tip their hand, uh, with the name of them—
MIKE: The— The title, yeah.
MATT: Yeah, like this one.
MIKE: You kind of know what it's going to be about.
MATT: {almost simultaneously} Know what it's going to be about. Yeah. {pause} This is—was this the first instan—nah, I guess he's always getting people's names wrong. That's a common theme.
MIKE: I don't know if that's—I don't know if he's—this... Maybe this is the first time.
MATT: Who knows?
MIKE: Somebody, uh, let us know. One of you callers. One of our callers will probably let us know.
MATT: Mike, we don't have callers.
MIKE: We should, uh, have a radio show.
MATT: Mike, no.
MIKE: This should—this is a radio show.
MATT: It's not.
MIKE: {adopts gravelly voice} All right, all right.
{Matt laughs}
MIKE: Uhm...
MATT: So here we go. That's The Cheat in his Evel Knievel outfit, obviously, which our mom made us for, uh—or made our oldest brother first for Halloween—
MIKE: Yep.
MATT: —and then I think it got passed down to all of us. I think in, like, 1987, I was wearing an Evel Knievel {Mike laughs} and like, I didn't know that he wasn't very popular anymore. And he says "Let's do this like Brutus" there, not "Buddhists". A lot of people think he says that, but that's just a, uh... comment. It's in a De La Soul song or it's on the De La Soul album "De La Soul is Dead." Doesn't Flavor Flav say it at some point?
MIKE: I think so, yeah.
MATT: KnF'nC. That's a reference to GnF'nR, Drivin' N' Cryin'.
MIKE: {chuckling} That's—
MATT: That's—all four of those are our br—big brother Donnie, very seriously in the year 1987 dressed as Vince Neil for Halloween. There you have it. And then a bunch of extra limbs.
{Mike laughs}
MATT: And of course, there you go. Limozeen given... wings... wings of steel, {Mike laughs} you know, with which to fly.
Fun Facts
- The first email in which Strong Bad refers to the sender by an incorrect name is actually invisibility, in which he calls sinstudly17 "dumb name"—though he had given senders nicknames and has misspelled or mispronounced names prior to this.
- Evel Knievel was a stunt performer known for attempting daredevil ramp-to-ramp motorcycle jumps. He retired from stunt jumps in 1977 (making his final stunt show appearance in 1980), hence Matt's comment about Knievel's relative lack of popularity by 1987.
- Drivin' N' Cryin' is a Southern rock band famous in the Georgia region, but which never really achieved national fame.
- Vince Neil is the lead singer for the band Mötley Crüe.
- "Wings of steel" combined with the lyric "wings of a bat" refer to the 1960s cartoon Batfink, whose eponymous hero is a crime-fighting bat with steel wings.
