KIDS: {singing in background, music continually loops throughout intro} Everybody! Everybody! Everybody! Everybody!
{A lit version of Homestar Runner, similar to graphics seen on sports scoreboards, runs in place. The normal Homestar, smaller than the graphic, runs across the top of the screen, leaving the letters "H O M E S T A R" from left to right in a scoreboard-like typeface, then runs offscreen. The letters fade between a cycle of red, white, and blue. He re-enters at the bottom right leaving the similarly-displayed letters "R U N N E R" from right to left, then runs off the left side of the screen. Appearing slightly larger from the left, he runs across the middle of the screen, causing the words "HOMESTAR" and "RUNNER" to scatter. His logo, also in scoreboard style, fades in behind him as he runs, and then fades into the glossy, higher-detail version of the logo. The star from the logo elongates itself toward the camera into a star-shaped tunnel, alternating in red, white and blue, and eventually zooming upon Homestar standing in front of a blue background with light blue stripes emanating from the center.}

Remember when you could skip this?!
- This introduction was in place on homestarrunner.com from 2001, retired in 2021 as part of a major reworking of the site's structure.
- At first, as the page title alludes to, the intro played whenever navigating to the homestarrunner.com URL.
- In mid-2003, a landing page was put in place on the index, giving visitors the choice to either watch the intro or "come on in" directly to a main page.
- As of 2021, the index page only offers the choice to "come on in". The retired Old New Intro can now be watched via the TV Time Toons Menu.
Trivia
- In an interview with retroCRUSH, Mike Chapman revealed that he and Matt sung the background song and sped up their voices to achieve the childlike higher pitch.
- A similar method was used to create the Homestar Runner Theme Song.
Remarks
- The HTML filename (intro.html) does not match its SWF counterpart, named newintro.swf. intro.swf is the Flash file for the Old Intro.
- The lightbulbs that make up the outline of Homestar's picture have only a fraction of them glow.
- Once the "skip" button disappears, clicking the star on Homestar's shirt jumps straight to the Main Pages without having to wait for Homestar to finish singing.
- The intro will only lead to Main Pages 1 through 14.
- On some Halloweens from 2001 through 2005, the page was replaced with a Halloween-styled variation that featured Homestar wearing orange and black. This intro always led to Main Page 7, the Halloween graveyard main page.
Goofs
Lack of visible legs
- When the big yellow Homestar lifts his front leg, a yellow line is visible between two of the scoreboard lights.
- There is a single frame toward the end where most of Homestar's body should be visible, yet his legs are missing.
- When Homestar opens his mouth, his hat changes to a darker red and goes back when he closes it.
Fast Forward
- The "Everybody Everybody" song has been reused on many occasions.
- The main menu for the DVD Everything Else, Volume Two depicts a felt version of Homestar on the blue background.
- The intro to strongbad email.exe Disc Five starts as an expanded 3D version of this intro.
- On April Fools' Day 2009, Strong Bad Sbemailiarized the animation.
- For April Fools' Day 2010, the normal intro and the index page were replaced by Xeriouxly Forxe.
- The scoreboard animation makes a brief appearance in Back to a Website.
