File:Homestar as Bod.png Homestar Runner Bod Bod is an animated children's television program first shown on the BBC in 1975 (later aired in the US on Nickelodeon in the early '80s). The show, adapted from a children's book series, is about a young boy named Bod who lives in a town with several other characters (seen in an Easter egg) who were all introduced with memorable musical themes. The show used a simple, limited animation style and featured a single narrator rather than voice actors.

As far back as 2001, The Brothers Chaps have cited Bod as an early inspiration of Homestar Runner.
