Instructions: The game is a maze, as represented by the grid above. (The colors of the grid represent the colors of the walls in each section.) Upon reaching each section of the grid, Strong Bad is always facing north, regardless of the direction he came from. One point is awarded for finding the key and one point is awarded for finding the big knife, both of which are necessary in order to complete the game.
A1 — Strong Bad's starting point. There are no characters or items here.
A2 — There are no characters or items here.
A3 — A key is located here. The first time you go to this section, the game will display "YOU GOT: A KEY!"
B1 — Strong Mad waits here. If you do not have the key, the game will display "STRONG MAD SAYS: GET A KEY!!" If you do have the key, the game will display "STRONG MAD SAYS: GET A... NEVERMIND!!"
B2 — A door waits here. If you do not have the key, you must back-track. If you do have the key, by pressing up the game will display "YOU UNLOCK: A DOOR!!" Once you have passed through the door, there is no going back. (Nor do you need to go back.)
B3 — A big knife is located here. The first time you go to this section, the game will display "YOU GOT: A BIG KNIFE!"
B4 — Homsar waits here. He is reachable from section B3 by pressing right, even though this is not an on-screen choice. By doing this, the game will display a large question mark with the message "YOU FOUND: A SECRET STYLE!" Once Homsar appears, he will say, in his normal voice, "AAAH'M A LONG-STANDING MUnch date." The game will then display "HOMSAR SAYS: MUNCH DATE?!"
C1 — An Atari Dragon waits here. If you do not have the big knife, the game will display "YOU GOT: EATEN BY A FREAKIN DUCK!" An animation will then appear showing Strong Bad being chased by an Atari Dragon, after which the game will display "GAME OVER" and you will be taken back to the Bonus menu of the DVD. If you do have the big knife, the game will display "YOU KILLED: A FREAKIN DUCK!" An animation will then appear showing Strong Bad with a big knife chasing an Atari Dragon, after which the game will show Strong Bad walking through a black-walled corridor that leads to The Cheat. Strong Bad will begin to repeatedly kick The Cheat while the game displays "YOU WIN!"
C2 — There are no characters or items here.
C3 — Bubs waits here. If you do not have the big knife, the game will display "BUBS SAYS: ALWAYS BE PREPARED!" If you do have the big knife, the game will display "BUBS SAYS: NICE BLADE MAN!"
The quickest way to complete the game is as follows: A1 → A2 → A3 → A2 → B2 → C2 → C3 → B3 → C3 → C2 → C1
Fun Facts
"For use with arrow buttons!"
- The title screen is similar to that of C.H.E.A.T., itself a parody of the Atari 2600 game E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
- This is another mention of 1982.
- This is another appearance of big knives and style.
- The Atari Dragon was previously described as a "freakin' duck" by Strong Bad in Main Page 13.
- Homsar says that he is a "munch date", which is probably a reference to Marshie thinking of "munch" as a meal, as seen in Meet Marshie.
- Strong Mad's M resembles the McDonald's arch.
