Rad, Rad Robotank
Transformers are frequently referenced in the Homestar Runner body of work. Various characters will often parody the toys, and the Cheat Commandos show has numerous similarities to the cartoon.
Appearances
- Cheat Commandos —
- Crackotage speaks mostly in rhyme. This speech pattern is similar to the Transformers characters Blaster and Wheelie. In addition, the jet he flies resembles an F-15, similar to Starscream's alternate mode.
- Fightgar has an accent (and name) similar to Wreck-Gar.
- The Cheatar — Strong Bad imitates the original transformation sound effect when talking about The Cheat turning into a guitar. He also asks why The Cheat didn't transform into "a semi [truck]" — referencing characters like Optimus Prime — or "a tape player" — referring to Soundwave.
- Alamo Drafthouse - 10 Jun 2005 — After having his eyes removed, Puppet Homestar Runner tells Mike Chapman that he wants Li'l Brudder's guidance in his "darkest hour" and needs the "Autobot Matrix", both references to The Transformers: The Movie.
- Email portrait — The Cheat vandalizes the Deutsch Master's portrait of Strong Bad by spray-painting a "Rad, Rad Robotank" on it. The Robotank's head appears to be based on Optimus Prime. Many Transformers characters have tank vehicle modes, such as Warpath and Brawl; however, the specific form of a tank with a robotic head is not based on any particular Transformer.
- The Cheat would later repeat this vandalism on the FBI Warning screen of strongbad email.exe Disc Five.
