"Drop a train on 'em!"

Large, lumbering locomotives that carry passengers across towns and across countries, trains are a great way to travel on metaphorical journeys and create spectacular wrecks. Hobos are frequently noted to inhabit them.

Appearances

  • Homsar's Character VideoHomsar declares himself as the captain of the gravy train.
  • Hallrunner — One of the obstacles that the Hallrunner encounters is a train.
  • Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 9.2 — Upon hearing that Marzipan had supposedly asked him to go away and pick up sticks, Homestar Runner angrily breaks up with her, saying she's taking the Alone Train to Aloneville.
  • Email caffeineStrong Sad hyperactively asks Marzipan to make wood-davers with him, and says they'll be so successful they will take the wood-daver train into a new century.
  • Email virusStrong Bad orders Edgar to "drop a train on 'em" and remove the viruses from his computer.
  • Email rock opera — Strong Bad announces his rock opera by saying, "Let's get this train-wreck a-rolling".
  • Sick Day — In lieu of Strong Bad being unable to answer his "word problem", Homestar decides to "take one for the team" by asking the question: "Two trains enter a tunnel going four miles per hour. At what time do they reach Poughkeepsie?"
  • Email narrator — The email intro is a song where Strong Bad meets the email on a north-bound train.
  • Email hygiene — Strong Bad condemns John's mouth as an "ecological train wreck".
  • Kick the Can (DVD commentary) — As Mike Chapman explains that the toons were made in two separate batches, The Homestar Runner tells him that he knew a hobo named Two Batches who got "run o'er by a train".
  • Homestar Ruiner Teen Girl Squad — If Strong Bad fails to kill off any girls after he's kicked Homestar off his drawing table, he calls the resultant comic a "train-mess".
  • Baddest of the Bands
    • Strong Bad considers that bringing Coach Z and Marzipan together would be like a train wreck being hit by a plane wreck.
    • After Strong Bad sabotages the Cool Tapes and PomStar, Marzipan describes Homestar's singing performance as a train that has obviously left the station and collided with a herd of grass-fed cattle.
  • Most in the Graveyard — Echoing his character video, Homsar declares himself the Captain Caveman of the graveyard train.
  • @StrongBadActual (September 23, 2017; June 30, 2018; September 18-21, 2018) — Strong Bad thinks of making a "Drop A Train On 'Em" VR simulator.
  • Steam Trading Cards — The description on Baron Darin Diamonocle's card claims he wears a gold neck brace after Dangeresque dropped a train of anvils on his head.
