Tragic Clown Dog

From foodstuffs to mascot costumes, hot dogs have made several unusual appearances in the Homestar Runner universe.

Appearances

• A Jumping Jack Contest — Bubs exclaims "Hot dog!" when he sees Strong Mad and The Cheat waiting in line at the Concession Stand.
• Where's The Cheat? — Hot dogs are listed in Bubs's inventory.
• Email island (Easter egg) — Homestar Runner imagines Strong Bad as a hot dog.
• Bubs's Character Video — Bubs mentions that he sells "hot dogs, chili dogs, slaw dogs, ketchup dogs and mustard dogs" at his Concession Stand.
• 3 Times Halloween Funjob — Strong Bad asks Bubs for a corn dog while ordering eggs and toilet paper for his shenanigans that night.
• Email part-time job — Strong Bad gets paid to wear a Tragic Clown Dog suit to help Bubs with advertising.
  • This mascot costume reappears in On Break and The House That Gave Sucky Tricks.
• Senorial Day — Senor Cardgage says, "We'll set up some tents and hot dogs for your... babies. Those like those, right?"
• Email coloring — One page of the Limozeen Coloring Book has Mary and Larry grilling hamburgers and hot dogs, and Strong Bad has drawn a giant hot dog behind them that is angry.
• Email 4 branches (Easter egg) — Mary Palaroncini eats a tentacle in a hot dog bun.
• Date Nite — During a date at Marshmallow's L'est Stand, Marzipan says she enjoyed a very fancy marshmallow order, an "almond-encrusted Chilean sea marshmallow", and in mundane contrast, she asks The Cheat, "How was your hot dog?"
• Email underlings — Strong Bad cooks hot dogs as part of a subliminal message written in condiments.
• Email environment — Coach Z uses "hydroelectric cooking" to create the "Sog Dog".
• Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective — While Dangeresque Too is suggesting replacements for Renaldo after he retires, he says, "Foot-long hot dog in a kaiser roll?"
  • In extended play, while Strong Bad is saying that the Concession Stand used to be a jail with Bubs as the only inmate, Bubs says, "I used to sell foot-long hot dogs with files hidden in 'em to myself!"
• 8-Bit is Enough —
  • A hot dog is included in the code wheel. Strong Bad calls it "an all-natural, 100% beef frank".
  • In Peasantry, Homestar in his virtual enclosure mentions that there is food lying all over, and holds up an 8-bit hot dog when he says "power dots".
• 4 Gregs —
  • Open Source Greg hacks into the concession stand at the football game and returns with Sugar Daddys and hot dogs.
  • A hot dog with a face and hands holding a fork that has a bite of the hot dog on it is shown while halftime is announced.
• Halloween Hide & Seek — Coach Z mentions that a cigarette lighter can be used to cook hot dogs inch by inch.
