Allegedly Real Things

Of course he's real! It says so right there in his name!

Many times, objects or people are specifically (and often awkwardly) described as real or actual when it's plainly obvious that they are not.

Examples

• Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 6.0 — Strong Bad excessively embellishes the claim that his girlfriend is real.
• Email credit card — The writers of the email "promise that [they] are real and not just trying to steal [Strong Bad's] money".
• Email 50 emails — Homestar Runner posts a fake error message after crashing the Compy 386. The error message's title bar reads "This is real."
  • The System is Down, Sbemail 100 Fakeout, and Main Page 22 — Similar fake error messages to the above appear with "This is real." in the title bar.
• Email unused emails (Easter egg) — Bubs's spam message insists "THIS IS NOT A JOKE!! THIS IS REAL!!!"
• Email autobiography — Strong Bad specifically notes that the description of his alleged girlfriend was a true part.
• Email technology (Easter egg) — Bubs advertises wireless extensions cords as being "lightweight, existent, and shockproof!"
• Email senior prom — Strong Bad's fake answering machine (an alarm clock with a cassette on top of it) has a sign reading, "an answering machine (trust me)".
• Decemberween Short Shorts — Coach Z tells Homestar Runner that he's having "all kinds of real people over to [his] house for a coupla real people parties".
• Email diorama — Strong Bad's book, a "real book that exists", is allegedly written by "Ronmartin Realdude" (who insists that he is "a living, breathing person, not a cat") and printed by the "Actual Publishing Company". Coach Z talks to "Ronmartin Realdude" via a notepad with a cell phone drawn on it.
• Sickly Sam's Big Outing — The Homestar Runner receives an "honest telegram" from The Sneak.
• Email shapeshifter — When Strong Bad asks Bubs, "How much for that Lamborghini hot tub you got back there?", Bubs answers, "Oh, that Lamborghini hot tub! It sure is back here!"
• Email imaginary — Strong Bad claims that Coach Z had an imaginary friend named "Real Live Actual Mr. Blangcaster Next Door".
• I Killed Pom Pom — Homestar speaks into a fake cell phone made of cardboard, then turns to The King of Town and The Poopsmith and says, "You guys hear that legitimate conversation I was just having? So legitimate."
