Every jam we play, we break two needles
Run-DMC was a hip hop trio consisting of Joseph Simmons ("Run"), Darryl McDaniels ("DMC"), and Jason Mizell ("Jam Master Jay"). A pioneering hip hop group, Run-DMC is often considered as one of the most influential acts in the genre. The group has been referenced several times in the Homestar Runner body of work, primarily by hip hop fan Coach Z.

- Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 11.2 — The King of Town's line "This is the KoT... in the place to be" is a reference to the song "Sucker M.C.'s", which has the lyric "I'm DMC in the place to be".

- 2022 Costume Pack Now Available — Coach Z dresses as DMC. When discussing his costume, the songs "It's Tricky", "King of Rock", and "Walk This Way" are mentioned.
