STRONG BAD: This is Red Five, I'm going in... to the mall... where my child will do all of their trick-or-treating, because even though I live in the suburbs, I'm terrified of my neighbors. Hey, does that mall really have a Blubb-O's in the food court?

{An advertisement showing the Blubb-O's Thick-or-Treat Burger appears on screen}

ANNOUNCER: Yes, it's the Blubb-O's Thick-or-Treat Burger! Get it now while it's still legal!

{The next image appears. It's a man with a sleeveless shirt, with drawn on abs, boxing gloves, and a Strong Bad mask. One of his fists is being held in the air.}

STRONG BAD: Hey, this one's not bad! This guy's wearing a limited-edition Ab-Ab-Beater undershirt! Keep on triumphantly upper-cutting the air in front of you, brother!

STRONG BAD: Yeah... ha ha... I don't know either, man. I don't know why... you would do this to yourself. You just keep on laughing there, tights in the hallway.

STRONG SAD: {singing} Tights in the hallway! {bobbing head side to side} Doom-chaka-doom-chaka-doom-chaka-doom.

STRONG BAD: Whoa, the popular vote! This guy wins the contest {The Cheat as The Popular Vote comes into view} for most obscure costume and swankiest living room! Look at that fancy mirror and baby grand piano. I'm surprised your parents let you slum it as one of our characters.

{The drawing of a person with blonde hair and a pink shirt comes into view on the left.}

STRONG BAD: {as the parent, whose mouth moves with his speech} Darling! I thought you'd agreed to dress up as a... a... {holds up a candy bar resembling Toblerone and with the packaging "TOBES"} Toblerone... this year. {The parent disappears.} Those are still considered fancy, right?

{The next image appears. It's a man with no shirt on, jeans, Converse shoes, a gun holster, yellow sunglasses, boxing gloves, and a fake nunchuck-gun}

STRONG BAD: Looks like I'm gonna have to stand on the door handle of this weird storage room! No, but, seriously, man, I just want to thank you... mainly for not being—

STRONG BAD: —this guy. And I want to thank you, for not being—

STRONG BAD: —this guy. Come on, man, have you ever actually looked at me? Or did you just sorta, like, hear about me from someone? I don't know; you got a hard hat and a stripey face maybe. Any excuse to put on my MMA gloves and my tore-up jeans.

STRONG BAD: This is an extremely accurate Homsar costume. Maybe not so much in appearance, but more in... life... choices...

{Cut to The Field, where Strong Bad is seen with a white-and-red striped mask with silver and gray emblems, blue pants, a hard hat, and a white streak across his boxing gloves, resembling the costume he had complained about not looking like himself. Hudmidibot rolls into the scene, with his top half opening, spilling water every time, as he speaks and making a loud lid noise.}

HUMIDIBOT: Hey, Strong Bad! I'm Humidibot!

STRONG BAD: Yeah, I'm aware of that, Humidibot!

HUMIDIBOT: Okay, because I'm gonna leave now! Wheeeee! {Humidibot rolls off-screen}

STRONG BAD: Bye, Humidibot!

{Homestar Runner walks on screen, wearing a plaid flannel shirt with a badly-drawn white star in the middle of it, black sunglasses, and an olive-green baseball cap, again resembling one of the bad costumes seen earlier in the toon.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Hey, Regular Strong Bad.

STRONG BAD: Hey, All-The-Time Homestar.

STRONG BAD: I couldn— I couldn't think of anything... for these ones. That one Homsar guy looks like my dentist, so that's creeping me out.

• MMA gloves are open-fingered grappling gloves used in martial arts.

Trivia

• This is the first Fan Costumes toon since Fan Costumes '09, a six-year gap mostly taken up by the 2010-14 hiatus.
• It is also the first to take place in multiple locations. The first two showed a night sky backdrop, whereas the pictures were projected in Strong Bad's basement from Fan Costumes '06 onward.
• This is also the first Fan Costumes installment since Fan Costume Commentary that doesn't include any "previous" or "next" buttons, a trend continued in subsequent years.
• The person dressed as the first Strong Bad is Wiki user Power Pie.
• The costume that Strong Bad complains does not look like him is actually a costume of Sir Hotbod Handsomeface, Strong Bad's alternate persona in Teen Girl Squad Issue 10.
  • Strong Bad comments later on Twitter that he still finds it inaccurate even as a Sir Hotbod Handsomeface costume.
• "Ab-Ab-Beater" is another example of a portmanteau, combining the Ab-Abber 2000 with the term "wifebeater", which is a slang term for the type of sleeveless shirt worn in the picture.
• The YouTube description for this video is "Strong Bad does his usual make-funnery to people who dressed up in H*R themed Halloween 'stumes."

Remarks

• The machine on which Humidibot is based is actually an air purifier rather than a humidifier.

Goofs

• The border that gives the toon a rounded appearance disappears in the last scene.
• Humidibot lacks a hinge on his lid/head, with it appearing to float when his "mouth" is open.

• Strong Bad quotes a variation of Dangeresque's catchphrase "Looks like I'm gonna have to jump!"
• The voice used for the man that used "more effort" for his Homestar costume is "somebody's dad", the replacement for the Jibblies Painting used in The House That Gave Sucky Tricks.
• The Blubb-O's "Thick or Treat Burger" resembles a Thick-N-Nasty with Halloween candy in it.
