"Diamonocle is most likely the ultra-rich Baron of a cool castle lair somewhere. Or a villa? What's a chateau? Are those cool? Anyways, he's really good at trap doors. He wears a solid gold neck brace since Dangeresque dropped a train full of anvils on him. Sometimes, maybe onetimes, he deviously pets an animal."
</blockquote>
<p><b>Baron Darin Diamonocle</b> is a villainous character in the <a href="/index.php?title=Dangeresque_%28film_series%29" title="Dangeresque (film series)"><i>Dangeresque</i> series</a>, portrayed by <a href="/index.php?title=Bubs" title="Bubs">Bubs</a> wearing a monocle. "Diamonocle" is a <a href="/index.php?title=Portmanteaus" title="Portmanteaus">portmanteau</a> of diabolical and monocle.
</p><p>Diamonocle first appears, unnamed, as the chief antagonist of <i><a href="/index.php?title=stunt_double" title="stunt double">Dangeresque 2: This Time, It's Not Dangeresque 1</a></i>. One of his evildoings includes dropping a <a href="/index.php?title=Heavy_Lourde" title="Heavy Lourde">Heavy Lourde</a> on <a href="/index.php?title=Dangeresque_%28character%29" title="Dangeresque (character)">Dangeresque</a> (<a href="/index.php?title=The_Stunt_Double" title="The Stunt Double">a stunt</a> performed by <a href="/index.php?title=Strong_Sad" title="Strong Sad">Strong Sad</a>). In keeping with the stereotypical <a class="extiw" href="http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RightHandCat" title="tvtropes:Main/RightHandCat">evil genius with a pet cat</a> (such as <a class="extiw" href="/index.php?title=Ernst_Stavro_Blofeld" title="wikipedia:Ernst Stavro Blofeld">Ernst Stavro Blofeld</a> from <i><a href="/index.php?title=James_Bond" title="James Bond">James Bond</a></i>), he is seen holding <a href="/index.php?title=The_Cheat" title="The Cheat">The Cheat</a>.
</p><p>In <i><a href="/index.php?title=Dangeresque_3:_The_Criminal_Projective" title="Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective">Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective</a></i>, Diamonocle is seen behind bars at <a href="/index.php?title=Brainblow_City" title="Brainblow City">Brainblow City</a> Prison. The incarcerated life has helped reformed Diamonocle, who claims that "getting shivved repeatedly in the yard really puts things in perspective", he willingly gives information to Dangeresque so that the hero could rescue <a href="/index.php?title=Cutesy_Buttons" title="Cutesy Buttons">Cutesy Buttons</a>. It is further revealed that Diamonocle had forced Dangeresque to eat a bag of "stale, three month old, moldy, <i>ranch flavored</i>" potato chips. In response, Dangeresque framed Diamonocle for endangered puppy trafficking and the murder of several <a href="/index.php?title=Presidents" title="Presidents">presidents</a>, leading to his arrest.
</p><p>One of the odd features of his character is his phonetic pronunciation of other characters' names; for instance, calling Dangeresque "Danger-skew" (misinterpreting "Danger-esque" as "Dangers-que") or <a href="/index.php?title=Perducci" title="Perducci">Perducci</a> "Per-ducky". It is unclear if this is an intentional character quirk or simply <a href="/index.php?title=Poor_Acting" title="Poor Acting">poor acting</a> on Bubs's part.
</p><p>In the <a href="/index.php?title=Steam_Trading_Cards" title="Steam Trading Cards">Steam Trading Cards</a> for <a href="/index.php?title=Dangeresque:_The_Roomisode_Triungulate" title="Dangeresque: The Roomisode Triungulate">Dangeresque: The Roomisode Triungulate</a>, a puppet Diamonocle is depicted with a coif of white hair (similar to <a href="/index.php?title=File:hygiene_stylized_characters.PNG" title="File:hygiene stylized characters.PNG">Bubs's appearance in</a> <a href="/index.php?title=hygiene" title="hygiene">hygiene</a>) and a gold neckbrace due to Dangeresque dropping a <a href="/index.php?title=Trains" title="Trains">train</a> full of <a href="/index.php?title=Anvils" title="Anvils">anvils</a> on him.

"Welcome to oblivion, Danger-skew."

Baron Darin Diamonocle appears to be the chief evildoer of Dangeresque 2: This Time, It's Not Dangeresque 1. He is played by Bubs wearing a monocle and holding The Cheat as his pet. One of his evildoings includes dropping a Heavy Lourde on Dangeresque (in reality a stunt double played by Strong Sad). One of the odd features of his character is his phonetic pronunciation of other characters' names; for instance, he calls Dangeresque "Danger-skew" and Perducci "Per-dukki". In Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective, a reformed Diamonocle, while behind bars at Brainblow City Prison, gives information to Dangeresque so that the hero could rescue Cutesy Buttons.

Apparently, Diamonocle successfully forced Dangeresque to eat a bag of "stale, three month old, moldy, ranch flavored" potato chips. In response, Dangeresque framed Diamonocle for endangered puppy trafficking and the murder of several presidents, leading to his incarceration in Brainblow City Prison. As it turns out, though, Diamonocle really took to prison life well, claiming that "getting shivved repeatedly in the yard really puts things in perspective".

<div class="visualClear"></div>
This villain is a stereotypical evil genius with a furry pet held in one arm. Ernst Stavro Blofeld from the James Bond movies is an early example of this, with characters like Dr. Evil and Doctor Claw following the same formula.

"Welcome to oblivion, Danger-skew."
He's really good at trap doors.

From his Dangeresque: The Roomisode Triungulate Steam trading card:

"Diamonocle is most likely the ultra-rich Baron of a cool castle lair somewhere. Or a villa? What's a chateau? Are those cool? Anyways, he's really good at trap doors. He wears a solid gold neck brace since Dangeresque dropped a train full of anvils on him. Sometimes, maybe onetimes, he deviously pets an animal."

Baron Darin Diamonocle is a villainous character in the Dangeresque series, portrayed by Bubs wearing a monocle. "Diamonocle" is a portmanteau of diabolical and monocle.

Diamonocle first appears, unnamed, as the chief antagonist of Dangeresque 2: This Time, It's Not Dangeresque 1. One of his evildoings includes dropping a Heavy Lourde on Dangeresque (a stunt performed by Strong Sad). In keeping with the stereotypical evil genius with a pet cat (such as Ernst Stavro Blofeld from James Bond), he is seen holding The Cheat.

In Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective, Diamonocle is seen behind bars at Brainblow City Prison. The incarcerated life has helped reformed Diamonocle, who claims that "getting shivved repeatedly in the yard really puts things in perspective", he willingly gives information to Dangeresque so that the hero could rescue Cutesy Buttons. It is further revealed that Diamonocle had forced Dangeresque to eat a bag of "stale, three month old, moldy, ranch flavored" potato chips. In response, Dangeresque framed Diamonocle for endangered puppy trafficking and the murder of several presidents, leading to his arrest.

One of the odd features of his character is his phonetic pronunciation of other characters' names; for instance, calling Dangeresque "Danger-skew" (misinterpreting "Danger-esque" as "Dangers-que") or Perducci "Per-ducky". It is unclear if this is an intentional character quirk or simply poor acting on Bubs's part.

In the Steam Trading Cards for Dangeresque: The Roomisode Triungulate, a puppet Diamonocle is depicted with a coif of white hair (similar to Bubs's appearance in hygiene) and a gold neckbrace due to Dangeresque dropping a train full of anvils on him.

The name "Darin" is a reference to Mark Darin, former Telltale Games employee who worked as series designer for Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People and directed and co-wrote the "Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective" episode of the game.

Other Bubs roles

"Or did you?"

Shark-Tooth Bubs appears as a villain at the end of Dangeresque: Puppet Squad. Instead of a monocle, this character wears a cowboy hat and a mustache. It is heavily implied that he may have been the true culprit who stole Dangeresque's curly fries.

In Dangeresque Roomisode 3: Keep My Enemies, Loser, a silhouetted character portrayed by Bubs attempts to murder Perducci with a sniper rifle. Whether this is meant to be Diamonocle, the previously seen unnamed bad guy, or an entirely new character is not clarified.
