Instructions · Help Drawing conclusions The "quit rubbing that plastic bar of soap" comment may be a reference to the "drawing with a bar of soap" analogy common in the computer graphics world, as opposed to using a drawing tablet. It presents an interesting fact and is feasible. Even if it's not necessarily likely, it does no harm to include it. Arguments against: Speculation. It's just a joke about how Strong Bad doesn't understand what the wireless mouse is. Likely a reference to the symmetric, smooth, white, buttonless Apple Wireless mouse. This is CLEARLY a joke referencing the fact that the Mac Mouse looks like a bar of soap. This would only make sense if Strong Bad used a drawing tablet himself. I doubt that he's got better technology than The Cheat ;-) This reflects Strong Bad's lack of knowledge about technology Additional comments: Neutral for now, leaning toward accepting. Fact needs a slight rephrase. I removed the specific mention of the company, since it's irrelevant. It's still speculation, though. Instructions · Help Fun for 5/6 of the family The Color Wheel Roulette's claim of "50% fewer deaths than Russian variety" refers to the practice of Russian roulette, in which a single round is placed in a revolver, the cylinder is spun, and the gun is fired at oneself, taking the chance that the bullet will be shot. If we assume that a player dies when a bullet is shot, the odds of dying from Russian roulette are 16.66% (assuming a six shooter, a 1 in 6 chance would be 16.66%; however, because the chamber with the bullet is heavier, it is less likely to stop at the top than the other five chambers). The odds of dying from Color Wheel Roulette are therefore 8.33% (one half of 16.66%). Which means Garden Variety has a 4.16% chance to kill. Arguments against: Needlessly explains the joke. Long and unweildy. Mathematical calculations such as this traditionally go on the talk page (see Talk:A Folky Tale#Physics and Talk:isp#Is your Internet Perry running?). Makes unwarranted assumptions. An interesting read on Russian Roulette belongs on the Wikipedia article, not the toon article. We can always find a place to hang a link to WP if we need to. Additional comments: This is not a case where the humor is so obscure that the joke needs explaining. If we want to hang a link to Russian roulette somewhere and let the reader draw his or her own conclusions as to why it's funny, then fine, but we shouldn't have a fun fact giving it all away. It doesn't explain why it's funny, but what those numbers actually mean. Those numbers are all speculation. First it assumes that "50% fewer" means exactly 50.00% (as opposed to "about half"), and then it assumes that the revolver holds six bullets, when actually five-shot and seven-shot varieties are common (and it's even possible to find revolvers that hold up to ten shots). On various talk pages, we have discussed just how much analysis is too much. In general, I favor such analysis, but in this case we really are being too nitpicky. The math is unnecessary speculation and overkill on something that's simply supposed to be funny. There should at least be an explanation stating, that 'the Russian variety' refers to russian roulette. I was the first one to put in the odds of dying from the game because I thought it would be funny. Now it's unfunny and doesn't even have much to do with the sbemail anymore. We should revert it to "The 'Russian Variety' refers to 'Russsian Roulette'" or whatever it was. I agree. In fact, I'm the one who originally put up the fact, and I was sure it shouldn't be STUFF'd because it was fine as it was. It used to just be "50% fewer deaths than the Russian variety" is a reference to the usually fatal game Russian roulette. Now it's this scientific mess. As if the joke needs more explaining: Telling someone "no loafing" means telling them they're lazy. Name similarity as pointed out above, so by extension, FDR was lazy. I seriously doubt it has anything to do with his disabled status. It would be really mean of TBC to make fun of the disabled. It would be more than that. They'd anger a huge chunk of their American audience, given FDR's continued popularity. Additional comments: Mean or not, they could still make fun of the disabled. As a side note, they have no problem with making fun of disabled puppies. As a sider note, Brudder is not disabled, just the offspring of a dog and a unicycle. And I don't think they'll make fun of a president. Given the humpor type of Strong Sad, the name Franklin Delano Loafing probably refers to a separate entity entirely from the real FDR.
