This is a huge stretch, the two are not even related, just two losers. Keep in mind that Strong Sad had just been turned into a believer. He could have just been excited. It wouldn't really be a reference unless they both said the same thing, which they don't. Additional comments: Also note that the "fact" says "This may be a reference....", not "This is a reference...." Which weakens its credibility even further. Instructions · Help Bubs Rubb Bubs holds up a tube of ointment labeled "BUBRUB". This is likely a reference to Bubb Rubb, a man featured on a viral video news clip from KRON-TV in San Francisco. "Bubrub" and "Bubb Rubb"?? Is it because I'm a newbie? It's a reference to pop culture; it doesn't necessarily have to relate to the thing in the cartoon. What does "Arrested Development" have to do with Bubs' (as Apollo Creed) Halloween reference to the show? The meme was certainly popular enough that TBC are likely to have seen it. They would have noticed how well the name already fit into the existing mythos of H*R, and used it accordingly. The ointment was labeled "BUBRUB", and not "BUBSRUB". Changing "Bubs" to "Bub" suggests that it is a reference to the viral video. But is it likely a reference? We're not saying it definitely is a reference, we're saying it's possibly a reference. How do we know anything on this site is a reference? Did TBC come by and explain all their references and I missed it? This is a "fact" relating to the toon, and it's "fun" to know. "Fun fact." QED. Arguments against: Coincidence. BUB means Bubs, and RUB means ointment. And there's no reason for the reference. The thing being referred to has nothing to do with the reference. This is not a "fact" unless demonstrated or proven, regardless of how "fun" it may be. There is no exact reason why it would refer to "Bubb Rubb" Additional comments: Why was this fact re-opened? It was already declined 18-0, and is now losing 25-2. The outcome seems pretty obvious... People were complaining that it was taken down too early. You're right; the outcome of the vote won't change. On the other hand, the unanimous outcome wasn't representative of the talk page discussion, in which four different people thought it was an okay fact. Since it was open for such a short window of time, I think it's fair to give anyone a chance to officially declare their approval of this fact. But like you said, the fact may ultimately be declined either way.
