The

BMW Lighter

is a handheld naphtha-type fire starter. It prominently displays the logo of

BMW

, an abbreviation of “

Bayerische Motoren Werke

” (Bavarian Motor Works), a German company and manufacturer of automobiles and motorcycles. When the lighter was first introduced on Homestar Runner, a "real world" BMW lighter was unavailable as

The Brothers Chaps

attest to on the DVD commentary for "

dragon

". There are now several styles of BMW lighter available.

Legal & archival notice

Mirror of Homestar Runner Wiki. This site is an independent mirror / archive of content originally published on Homestar Runner Wiki (hrwiki.org). Because a wiki is a living document, some pages here may differ from the source: material may have been edited after the snapshot used for this mirror, and migration or conversion may have introduced changes.

Homestar Runner original content. Characters, names, artwork, media, and other original content owned by The Brothers Chaps (Mike and Matt Chapman / Homestar Runner) appear here under fair use for purposes of commentary, criticism, education, and documentation of that work. No claim of ownership is made over such material. All rights in Homestar Runner original content remain with their respective owners.

Archival purpose. Content originating from Homestar Runner Wiki is preserved here for archival and historical reference because the original site has long been unreliable and difficult to access consistently. This project is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Brothers Chaps or the operators of the original hrwiki.org.

How this site is run. HR Wiki Twice is maintained by a long-time fan who pays the hosting and related costs out of pocket. It is run at a loss: there is no advertising, and donations are not accepted. This is a labor of love, offered so that this community’s body of knowledge can remain freely available online.
