HOMESTAR RUNNER: {walks in from stage right} Oh hello! And now for a special punishment—I mean, presentation from Strong BaaaaaaaAAaaAAaaAAaaaad. {walks off stage}

{Cut to a curtain at the edge of the stage.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: {offscreen} Psst! Strong Bad! Go!

{Strong Bad, wearing a small sailor's hat, peeks out from the wings}

STRONG BAD: Oh man, there's no way I'm goin' out there.

{Strong Bad goes back behind the curtain. Cut to Homestar standing backstage with Pom Pom, Strong Mad (in his default expression), and The Cheat.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Oh yes you are. {Pom Pom turns angry} You lost fair and square.

{Cut back to the curtain, with Strong Bad resisting being pushed out.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Goooo.

STRONG BAD: No.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Go!

STRONG BAD: No! RrrrrrraaaaaaaAAH!

HOMESTAR RUNNER: GO!

{Strong Bad is pushed onto stage. Cut to a full view of the stage, showing him wearing a sailor suit and holding a large cherry red lollipop.}

{Homestar, Pom Pom, Strong Mad, and The Cheat laugh; cut to the four of them backstage}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Go on!

{Cut back to Strong Bad}

STRONG BAD: {clears throat, heavy mumbling} Hrrymrrdrr.

{Cut back to backstage; Homestar leans forward}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: What?

{Cut back to Strong Bad}

STRONG BAD: {mumbling} Happymuddaday.

{Cut back to backstage}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: We can't hear youuu!

{Cut back to Strong Bad, who jumps and hangs in the air.}

STRONG BAD: {screaming} HAPPY FREAKIN' MOTHER'S DAYYY!!!

{Strong Bad lands. Cut back to backstage. More laughter from Homestar, Strong Mad, The Cheat, and Pom Pom}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: You had to say it. Pom Pom, seriously. He had to say it.

{Cut back to Strong Bad}

STRONG BAD: {walking off the stage} Oh man! That's the last time I'm playin'—

{Cut to a wider shot, revealing an empty auditorium.}

STRONG BAD: —you guys in cards. You guys are freakin' ruthless, man! I'm outta here! More like "Crappy Mother's Day", if you ask me. Cause it's probably pretty crappy so far. And I'm not even a mother.

{Fade to black}

Fun Facts

Trivia

• This is the first holiday cartoon featuring The Brothers Chaps' current style of animation, including the "gleam" in Strong Bad's eyes. However, The Cheat is still drawn in the older style and Strong Bad still has his Mexican accent. Homestar's legs when leaning forward backstage are also small and separated like his older design.
• The "back" button at the end of this toon will always lead to Main Page 8. This is strange, as Main Page 8 has no connection to Mother's Day, whereas other toons that lead to a specific main page mostly have to do with the toon theme (such as Ween Intro leading to Main Page 7).

Remarks

• In A Holiday Greeting, the auditorium was orange. In this toon, it's blue.
• Strong Bad's design went back to an older incarnation for the next few toons. This version of Strong Bad wasn't used again until The Best Decemberween Ever.
• Pom Pom's laughter is not audible.
• The Cheat frowns when he laughs.
• Although mothers are referenced, none of the main characters' parents have ever actually been seen (except for a photo of Pom Pom's parents in the very old toon Pom Pom, Too), nor are they likely to ever be.

Goofs

• The sailor collar on Strong Bad's outfit should be in the back, tied in the front.
• Strong Bad's mouth doesn't move when the whole auditorium is shown.

Real-World References

• The auditorium in this toon looks like the auditorium in A Charlie Brown Christmas, another holiday cartoon.
