Yes, but is it notable? This is not as notable as "Tiny eye difference" above, because this was clearly intended to be different, whereas that was TBC needlessly recreating something and not getting it the same.

Different levels, different sprites. We can't assume they used cut and paste for everything.

This is factually incorrect. See revision below for details.

This revision makes more sense, and it gets rid of the useless comment of the ladders being different from every level.

Arguments against:

This fact, while true at face value, does not tell the whole story. There are two kinds of ladders used in the game: Ladders with small rungs (1.1, 1.2, 5.2), and ladders with large rungs (2.1, 2.2, 5.1, 6.1).

This is not noteworthy.

 Tiny eye difference
The right eye of CPU 1-up in level 5 and the right eye of the player's 1-up in level 5 is slightly different. (Unfortunately, I don't even know why I put this up?) If you don't believe me, go to Fanstuff.Hrwiki.org, look at cheat Stinkoman 20X6, download it, go to level 4. Then, press "U" and "3". You will see the difference.
Biz-tra Life

The sound made when collecting a capsule or an extra life is the same as cracking a Bitzar.

Arguments for:

Arguments against:

 • Do we really need to note every time a sound effect is re-used?

Ladder difference

The ladders in level 5.2 look different from those in other levels, even level 5.1 (the rungs are smaller and more numerous).

Arguments for:

Arguments against:

 • Yes, but is it notable? This is not as notable as "Tiny eye difference" above, because this was clearly intended to be different, whereas that was TBC needlessly recreating something and not getting it the same.
 • Different levels, different sprites. We can't assume they used cut and paste for everything.
 • This is factually incorrect. See revision below for details.

Proposed revision:

The ladders in level 5.2 look slightly different from those of level 5.1.

Arguments for:

 • This revision makes more sense, and it gets rid of the useless comment of the ladders being different from every level.

Arguments against:

 • This fact, while true at face value, does not tell the whole story. There are two kinds of ladders used in the game: Ladders with small rungs (1.1, 1.2, 5.2), and ladders with large rungs (2.1, 2.2, 5.1, 6.1).
 • This is not noteworthy.

Different Colors

The fact that Gaspeau (red) and Frotzer (blue) are almost the same exact enemies may be a reference to the old Zelda games where an enemy could be red or blue and that the blue version of the enemy was always harder.

From: Stinkoman 20X6

Arguments for:

 • This shouldn't be deleted. Just rewritten.

Arguments against:

 • "May be" is not something you want to find in a fact.
 • Zelda is not the only series that does this.

The 1-Up sprites in Level 4 are slightly different to the ones in Level 5 — they were not reused, as the Stinkoman ones are.

Arguments for:

 • MUCH better, and it's true.

Arguments against:

 • Are "slight" differences really notable?

Leikand's magic powers

Liekand is also reminiscent of the game Magic Pockets, in which the character's attack is a bouncing tornado that can spit out smaller tornadoes.

From: Stinkoman 20X6
Posted on: 12:09, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Arguments for:

 • The bouncing motion, and the appearance of projectiles from the top of the funnel are similar.

Arguments against:

 • All too likely a coincidence.
 • And Leikand doesn't spit out smaller tornadoes.
 • "Magic Pockets" did not invent tornados, and certainly does not contain the only tornado video game boss.
