Week 26, 2010

Cardboard Marzipan is a cardboard cutout of Marzipan that was made and voiced by Homestar Runner while Marzipan was out of town. She closely resembles her Powered by The Cheat counterpart. Apparently, Cardboard Marzipan thinks Coach Z is disgusting and that Bubs is a "gorgeous hunk of man". She once asked The Cheat if he wanted to go on a secret hot date after his fireworks display in Happy Fireworks. Oftentimes Homestar, still speaking for her, would correct things that he himself had just said previously. For example, when he mistakenly called Independence Day "Fireworks", Cardboard Marzipan remarked that that wasn't the name of the holiday. Also, after denying that the real Marzipan was out of town for the summer, Cardboard Marzipan stated that she was. In Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective, she is used as Marzipan's stunt double. Week 25, 2010

The Basement of the Brothers Strong is where Strong Bad, Strong Mad, and The Cheat hang out, watch telebision, and play the Trogdor game. Strong Bad often sleeps on the couch as seen in the emails cheatday, other days, morning routine, underlings and in the short The Li'l Brudder Show. There must be two ways into the basement, as characters have been seen entering from both sides of the room. The basement has a drop ceiling and fluorescent lighting (as shown in couch patch and Strong Mad's Character Video). Part of The Brothers Chaps' office, shown in Making of Email 100, has the walls painted with the same design as Strong Bad's basement. (more...)

Week 24, 2010

Nearly every computer that Strong Bad has owned has malfunctioned at some point, and each has done so in some famously tragic ways. More often than not his computer will throw a Flagrant System Error reminiscent of the Blue Screen of Death or incorrectly execute Strong Bad's commands. In other cases his computer meets an untimely end through a spectacular explosion or virus infestation. In each case Strong Bad replaces the now-deceased computer with a newer, better, but still obsolete version. (more...)

Week 23, 2010

The SBLOUNSKCHED! Bar is Strong Bad's very own brand of candy bar, which he of course needs because he is "famous, popular, and a chick-magnet". It is produced by Cheap as Free Foodstuffs. The name of the bar is a marketing triumph, and is composed of "50% Strong Bad, 50% tooth rot, and 50% ta-dah!!!" The candy concoction is shaped like Strong Bad's pants, with a bite taken out for security purposes. The missing bite is not reflected in the packaging. According to the end of the commercial, one free root canal or cavity search is offered upon the purchase of one bar. Its logo has the "SB" part bigger and red, as a reference to Strong Bad. Week 22, 2010

Thy Dungeonman is the first of three exciting Videlectrix text adventure games where you play as our brave hero Thy Dungeonman. In this first game you explore the depths of yon dungeon from which you try to escape. The game is short and simple compared to its sequels (Thy Dungeonman II and Thy Dungeonman 3) but in it you can still explore a quasi-medieval world where dungeons, flasks, scrolls, daggers, trinkets, enchanted rope, and even Wumpuses occupy the land. The game can be accessed from the Strong Bad Email video games. If you are brave enough to venture out of the dungeon then obvious exits are NORTH, SOUTH and DENNIS. (more...) play

Week 21, 2010

Parsnips A-Plenty, released on Monday, October 21, 2002, is an Old-Timey rendition of The Reddest Radish. It is also the first time the Old-Timey characters' voices are heard. In this toon The Homestar Runner, Old-Timey Marzipan and Fat Dudley decide to make parsnip soup. However, Old-Timey Strong Bad, Strong Man, and The Sneak overhear their plan and decide to hinder it. When The Homestar Runner and his group arrive at the depot they learn from Old-Timey Bubs that all the parsnips have been sold out. And when they learn that Old-Timey Strong Bad's group have taken it, Old-Timey Strong Bad challenges Homestar to a duel. (more...) watch

Week 20, 2010

In the Strong Bad Email animal, Strong Bad settles on Sterrance as what he would "like as" (look like) if he were his own made-up animal. He decides this after a lengthy series of other failures (documented in Made-Up Strong Bad Animals). Sterrance has a pudgy blue body with the crest from Strong Bad's Mexican wrestling mask and tiny boxing gloves for hands and feet. He also has wings, buck teeth, large nostrils, and a dangling yellow tongue. Strong Bad claims it to be cuter than "that stupid, ugly old washed-up The Cheat [he] used to have", which angers The Cheat. (more...)

Week 19, 2010, Day 7

Baron Darin Diamonocle appears to be the chief evildoer of Dangeresque 2: This Time, It's Not Dangeresque 1. He's played by Bubs wearing a monocle and holding The Cheat as his pet. One of his evildoings includes dropping a Heavy Lourde on Dangeresque (in reality a stunt double played by Strong Sad). One of the odd features of his character is his phonetic pronunciation of other characters' names; for instance, he calls Dangeresque "Danger-skew" and Perducci "Per-dukki". In Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective, a reformed Diamononcle, while behind bars at Brainblow City Prison, gives information to Dangeresque so that the hero could rescue Cutesy Buttons. Week 19, 2010, Day 6

The Kidnapping Victim is a woman rescued from the Malvies Catacombs by Dangeresque in Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective. Long ago, when she was a child, she had been captured and taken to the catacombs by The Monster. The case was so difficult that it drove Dadgeresque mad, but his son was able to solve it and rescue her. "She" is played by the Poopsmith in a blond wig. Strong Bad apparently finds this getup very comical, as he has trouble keeping a straight face when his character is talking to her. (more...)

Dadgeresque, unknowingly played by Senor Cardgage, is an expert kidnapping solver and Dangeresque's long-lost dad. He went crazy after he was unable to solve a difficult kidnapping. He gave Dangeresque one half of a trinket from the Malvies Catacombs, with which Dangeresque combined with the other half (left in the Catacombs) to kill The Monster there, rescuing the Kidnapping Victim. Week 19, 2010, Day 5

Craig is the main villain in Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective, played by The Cheat, who has a voiceover of PBTC Homestar. He created the robot duplicate of Dangeresque Too, Uzi Bazooka, so that Dangeresque would think that his partner had joined with the enemy. At the end, Dangeresque kicks him through an airlock (really a dryer). During extended play, a deleted scene is accessible, in which Dangeresque tries to get him off Dangeresque Too. When Craig refuses, Dangeresque says, "Hey, you're not so bad after all! You wanna go get a milkshake or somethin'?", and Craig replies with the same answer. (more...)

Szechuan Steve is a villain in the Dangeresque series, who is played by The Cheat. He wears an empty box of Chinese food on his head. Dangeresque and Dangeresque Too fought Szechuan Steve in Dangeresque: Puppet Squad in an attempt to save Dangeresque's curly fries. (more...)

Week 19, 2010, Day 4

Sultry Buttons, played by Marzipan, is the femme fatale with perhaps some kind of relation to Cutesy Buttons. When Dangeresque needed Professor Experimento's rocket to get to the sun, Sultry Buttons came in and stole the ruby used to power the rocket. As it turns out, Sultry and Dangeresque had had a romantic night in Paris years ago where he gave her a rare Stickanee flower. Later, however, he left her, telling her he had to "save a bus full of school children from an erupting volcano stuffed with sharks in a top secret location". She's since turned to a life of crime. Week 19, 2010, Day 3

Professor Experimento, played by Pom Pom, is the super genius, rocket scientist and formula specialist in Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective. He apparently got Dangeresque kicked out of the space program, over some unidentified event involving a plastic bag of scorpions, back in Dangeresque 0: The Prequel Begins. Dangeresque claims that it was because Experimento stole his design for a rocket that runs on tomato soup, which resulted in the manufacturing of the Ruby Powered Rocket. (more...)

Week 19, 2010, Day 2

The Monster, played by Strong Sad, is a creature (called an octosaurus by Dangeresque), that stalks the Malvies Catacombs. Originally intended to look like a dinosaur with tentacles and laser eyes, he kidnapped an unnamed woman in a case that drove Dadgeresque mad. (more...)

The Informant, played by Strong Sad, is a mysterious character with an unrecognizable accent. He has three brothers throughout the world. The brothers' names are: Stinky the Peeve (in Venice), Cecil VanGough (in Ireland), and the "Moving Man" (in Cairo), along with one brother that isn't named (in Paris). Perducci disguises himself and pretends to be a fifth brother named Stoolie Ratweasel (in Tokyo). (more...)

Week 19, 2010, Day 1

Dangeresque Too is a private eye from the Dangeresque film series, played by Homestar Runner. He wears shades, like the other character named Dangeresque. In "Dangeresque 1: Dangeresque Too?", he is forced to work with Dangeresque against his will to thwart Perducci and his evil henchman Killingyouguy. Near the end, Dangeresque and Dangeresque Too set aside their differences and eventually become friends and partners. Danergesque Too returned in Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective. In this movie, a look-alike robot named Uzi Bazooka is created by the villian Craig to lead Dangeresque to assume that his partner had turned on him. At the end, the real Dangeresque Too showed himself at the space station and revealed Uzi to be a robot. (more...)

Week 18, 2010, Day 7

Strong Bad's stunt double, played by Strong Sad, was used at various times in the Dangeresque film series, in spite of Strong Bad's obviously false claims that he himself did all his own stunts (as seen in Dangeresque II: This Time, It's Not Dangeresque 1). He also played Strong Mad's stunt double in Dangeresque One: Dangeresque Too? in addition to his work as Hot Tub. He plays a stunt double for both Strong Bad and Homestar Runner at various times in Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective. In the same game, stunt doubles for Marzipan and Coach Z are in the same movie, but are respectively played by Cardboard Marzipan and a plant, not Strong Sad. Interestingly, this Strong Sad variation doesn't have a belly button. (more...)

Hot Tub (aka Passerby) is portrayed by Strong Sad (credited as El Dumpo) after he was forced into the role when Strong Bad stole his sandwich. Hot Tub claims he is not one of Perducci's minions and knows little about Perducci. Dangeresque was suspicious of his involvement, thinking he knew "a little bit too little about Perducci." He was right; Hot Tub was later shown giving information to Perducci. (more...)

Week 18, 2010, Day 6

Perducci, played by The King of Town, is the criminal mastermind of Dangeresque 1: Dangeresque, too? (featured in email dangeresque 3). Hoping to kidnap Cutesy Buttons, Perducci intercepts the serum at the border. When Dangeresque discovers him hiding in Istanbul, Perducci orders his henchman and secret weapon, Killingyouguy to eliminate the perpetrator. Dangeresque, with the aid of his partner Dangeresque Too, thwarts Perducci's plans by defeating Killingyouguy and saving both Cutesy and the serum. Perducci later reappears in Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective as one of the main antagonists. He wears a blue suit, a bowler hat, sunglasses, and a name tag reading, "Hello, my name is perducci". A running gag involving him is Dangeresque yelling out his name to the sky in frustration, fist raised. (more...)

Week 18, 2010, Day 5

Uzi Bazooka is a robot created by Craig in Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective, played by Homestar Runner. He was made to make Dangeresque believe Dangeresque Too had betrayed him. He looks just like Homestar Runner, but after being punctured he is shown with a circuit board taped to his chest. Uzi Bazooka is quite an evil villain. In the events of Dangeresque 3, he kidnapped both Renaldo and Cutesy Buttons, and murdered Dangeresque's father, Dadgeresque. He was eventually destroyed by Dangeresque, using Craig's diamond-tipped drill. During extended play, clicking on Uzi Bazooka shows a deleted scene where Dangeresque goes into his hollow body and becomes "Luger Machete". (more...)

The Chief, whose name contains an integral article, is an unseen person who employs Dangeresque in the game Dangeresque Roomisode 1: Behind the Dangerdesque. He locks Dangeresque in the Smoky Office until Dangeresque solves a case involving an attack. He constantly yells, speaks in capital letters and seems to be very irritable. Dangeresque suggests that The Chief is balding and watches football. Apparently, women find The Chief very unattractive. (more...)

Week 18, 2010, Day 4

Cutesy Buttons, played by Marzipan, is the lead female, love interest, and damsel-in-distress of the Dangeresque movies. She is in danger of being kidnapped in Dangeresque 1: Dangeresque, too? if the serum is not recovered. A scene in Dangeresque 2 hints at a romantic relationship with Dangeresque. In Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective, she hires him to find a formula that can save the rainforest. Uzi Bazooka kidnaps her to foil her plan to save the rainforest. She also claims to have a sister, who may or may not be Sultry Buttons. Even the director, Strong Bad, is unsure about the relationship between the two characters. Cutesy has the ability to pilot a helicopter. (more...)

Week 18, 2010, Day 3

Killingyouguy is Perducci's assistant and "secret weapon", and Dangeresque's "doom". However, he also seems to assist other villains as well, such as Uzi Bazooka. He is played by Strong Mad, but credited as "Himself". He has cut and bullet hole scars in the form of Sticky Notes. For the scenes where he is in shadow, The Cheat actually paints him black. Killingyouguy is quickly knocked out of commission by Dangeresque Too in Dangeresque 1: Dangeresque, too?. However, in this scene, Killingyouguy is not played by Strong Mad, but by a stunt double, Strong Sad. Regardless, Killingyouguy returns as Perducci's assistant in Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective, and also seems to be working with Uzi Bazooka and Craig. (more...)

Week 18, 2010, Day 2

Renaldo is the role played by Coach Z in Strong Bad's Dangeresque films. Dangeresque works alone, except when he works with Renaldo, which is all the time. In Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective, he is to retire in two weeks. Renaldo is later kidnapped by Craig and Uzi Bazooka and taken to their space station at the Sun. He reportedly dies at the end of the movie, when the space station is destroyed. Renaldo wears a turban with an improperly aligned "Star & Crescent" insignia; the symbol in question is identified most strongly with the Ottoman Empire or represents the symbol of Islam. Atop the turban, Renaldo wears a Fez, perhaps indicating a superlative layer of cultural identification with Morocco. The name "Renaldo" is Hispanic (being the Spanish form of Reynold), giving a further insight into the confused cultural identity of Coach Z's complex character. (more...)

Week 18, 2010, Day 1

Whether he's a private eye, a crooked cop, a secret agent or a celebrity pharmacist, nobody sticks it to the man like Dangeresque, Strong Bad's Shaft-esque film persona. This cool dude plays both sides of the law, gets all the ladies, and doesn't pull no punches. He wears cool, cool glasses and frequently carries his favorite weapon: his nunchuck gun. Dangeresque works alone, except when he works with Renaldo, which is all the time. He also seems to have to jump a lot—to escape danger, to avoid embarrassment, or just to get out of his office. Dangeresque had a father named Dadgeresque whom he was very attached to. Sadly, his father was shot and killed by Uzi Bazooka in Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective. Dangeresque is apparently employed by The Chief. He has had romantic relationships with both Cutesy Buttons and Sultry Buttons in the past. His catch phrase is "Looks like I'm gonna have to jump..." Week 17, 2010

The Couch is an orange sofa with a duct tape patch on the right back cushion in the Basement of the Brothers Strong. It appears that Strong Bad sleeps on the couch. This is where Strong Bad does his couch mumbling and where Homestar Runner enjoys spitting Teddy Grahams all over the place. Strong Bad also has eggs that he keeps in the couch. There are conflicting stories regarding why the couch sports its duct tape patch, as revealed in the email couch patch, such as Strong Bad trying but failing to hide some Aztec gold in there, only to release a "stench of biblical proportions"; Strong Sad thinking Lil' Strong Bad writing on the couch that Carl Lewis was a hot woman (he had presumably put the patch on the couch to hide the embarrassing truth); and an "anonymous" person (really Coach Z) having an unfortunate incident at a dinner party one night. Pistols For Pandas (or P4P) is a non-profit organization that aims to give pistols to pandas. Crack Stuntman is the national spokesperson for the group. In Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 14.2, Stuntman calls and leaves a message to tell Marzipan to stop protesting at their rallies. He describes pandas as "stupid, fat, slow creatures", saying they "need all the firepower they can get" so that they can protect themselves "when we come clear-cut their bamboo forests and build a five-star resort". P4P claims to have supplied guns to three hundred "underprivileged and unarmed" pandas. The logo shows an angry-looking panda with guns for eyebrows. (more...)

Week 15, 2010

In cheatday, the 107th Strong Bad Email, released on Monday, July 5, 2004, Strong Bad receives an email from someone without a name, so he guesses it's from someone named Mike Control. The email he receives asks what they do on The Cheat's birthday, or "Cheatday" as Strong Bad calls. He explains that no one knows when The Cheat's birthday is, so they celebrate on the one day they know it's not, which is on a fake I.D. for a Scandinavian miner named Ilko Skevüld. On this, The Cheat's Cheatday, Strong Bad sings him the Date of Birth song. Then they go and play some mining games in honor of Ilko's heritage. Finally, as a treat, Strong Bad lets The Cheat answers some emails, to which The Cheat always replies by threatening to gnaw the email sender's face off. Week 14, 2010

The Corpy NT6 is the computer used by Strong Bad when working in The Office. Apparently, Strong Bad uses it for third-quarter projection analysis spreadsheets, checking email, and talking to the people on his Buddy List. It gets a Flamboyant System Error in Biz Cas Fri 1, and explodes (thanks to Homestar's three-gig email attachment) in Biz Cas Fri 3. He salvages his Buddy List, which consists of Strong Mad and The Cheat, after the explosion by backing it up. Its name was first shown in from work, when Strong Bad tried to stealthily check an email on it, and is a play on the Compy 386 and possibly Windows NT. It was also seen in imaginary as a temporary computer Strong Bad used before he got the Compé. (more...)

Week 13, 2010

Sbemailiarized Entertainment is a new concept for Strong Bad Emails. In the premiere toon, Sbemailiarized!, Strong Bad answers the question, "What separates a Strong Bad Email from a regular toon?" Apparently, not that much! While there are currently over 200 Strong Bad Emails (not including the Not Quite Strong Bad Emails), they merely explain the different aspects of the Homestar Runner universe, whereas Sbemailiarized Entertainment basically transforms various cartoons, Main Pages, and even the Intro, into a Strong Bad Email. They have been described as "4th wall type things", "the future of Strong Bad Emails", "the worst idea [Mike] ever..." and so on. At the end, the logo, which consists of a shiny metal orb with a pink circle around it and the words "sbemailiarized entertainment", appears, followed by "™ © ® LLC,,." and the name of a men's magazine. Week 12, 2010

Marzipan's House, where Marzipan lives, has siding and a front porch. Her living room contains a couch and a painting with the words "Thank You" off-centered on it. Across from her couch in the living room is a mirror as seen in its reflection in Date Nite. Her kitchen contains a basic dining table, a window with a view outside, a Trivia Time cookie jar, her microwave, and her radio. Many other characters seem to use Marzipan's kitchen for their own purposes. She has a rarely seen craft room where she prepares her protest signs, and a basement with a chinchilla infestation. Near her door is her PhoneTime XL8 answering machine where the "Marzipan's Answering Machine" feature takes place. Her yard boasts a fine gazebo and radish patch. It is odd that, while in Quality Time, the room to the right of the couch is a closet, but in Baddest Of The Bands, Strong Bad clearly states that that is the kitchen, and that it is always boarded up while Strong Mad is there (which he is). Week 11, 2010

Lil' Strong Bad (also called Little Strong Bad or Lil Strong Bad) is the depiction of Strong Bad as a kid. He wears a shirt, unlike his grown-up counterpart. His head is more circular than when he grows up, and is apparently fastened in the back with a velcro strip rather than a shoelace. He has horrible spelling, evidenced in the card he sent to Lil' Strong Sad in The Secrets That I Keep, and often writes the letter d backwards (so that it looks like a b), even in his own name. He apparently also holds the record for the "Dirtiest Diapey" according to record book. He seemed to be on much more pleasant terms with Strong Sad than his grown-up counterpart, although in origins, it was implied that Strong Sad got his prominent belly button thanks to Lil' Strong Bad and a power drill. In best thing, the 126th Strong Bad Email, released on Tuesday, March 8, 2005, Strong Bad receives an email from Albin J. (from Maryland), asking him what is the best thing he has ever seen, done or eaten. Strong Bad explains the answer to all three: the quickly-canceled pilot episode of Limozeen: "but they're in space!", known as "Encounter at Groupulon 5", which Strong Bad had recorded on tape. He then watches it on the tape with Strong Sad. All the while the show is playing, Strong Bad comments on the scenes in it, such as the band having to both run away from and give backstage passes to "all the hot babe-liens of the galaxy", the magical prankster Bozar turning reality upside-down, and, most of all, the band making sure metal stays number one throughout the galaxy. Week 9, 2010

Coach Z and Marzipan appear to have a love-hate relationship, with most of the love lying on Coach Z's side and most of the hate lying on Marzipan's. On several occasions, Coach Z has shown to be in love with, or at least attracted to, Marzipan, although whether this is due to actual feelings of love, or the fact that Marzipan is the only girl available, is uncertain. Marzipan has made it quite clear that she is not particularly fond of Coach Z, and is often annoyed or downright repulsed by him. Despite these differing feelings between them, the two have been able to get along fairly well on a few occasions. (more...)

The year 1987 was apparently an unusually eventful year in the Homestar Runner universe. It was the year in which, among other events, Strong Bad used to hang out with his main man Van Mundegaarde, productivity was down and the No Loafing Sign was put up, and when Strong Bad last checked that anime was called Japanimation. The DVD commentary for monster truck reveals that 1987 was the year in which Donnie Chapman dressed as Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe and Matt Chapman dressed as Evel Knievel for Halloween. At Flashforward 2006 Seattle, Mike mentioned that Matt won an award at a media festival for stop motion clay animation when he was in the seventh grade in 1987, but whether there is any further significance of the year to The Brothers Chaps remains in the realm of speculation. Week 7, 2010

Teen Girl Squad Issue 5 is the fifth installment in the Teen Girl Squad series, released on Monday, March 1, 2004. Cheerleader, So and So and The Ugly One (but not What's Her Face, as they "forgot" to call her) are on Spring Break. They try to hang out with a group of college boys (or "olda boys", as Cheerleader calls them). The Ugly One is too scared to speak to them and buries her head in the sand instead. Cheerleader and So and So speak to them, Cheerleader insisting that they are in college, while So and So says that they're in 8th grade. While The Ugly One keeps her head buried, Henry Rollins, Abraham Lincoln and George Washington all approach and point at her, then go tandem parasailing with So and So. Near the end, they fly past What's Her Face watching Thomas skating a half-pipe. (more...) watch

Sickly Sam's Big Outing, released on Monday, February 11, 2008, is a Valentine's Day toon, set in the Old-Timey universe. This is the first Old-Timey toon to be presented in a color (namely, pink), added in to the otherwise black and white toon. In this toon, The Homestar Runner and Old-Timey Marzipan help Sickly Sam get ready for a date. All the while this is happening, Old-Timey Strong Bad and his cronies, Strong Man and The Sneak, try every effort to sabotage their efforts, so that the three villains can instead sell Sam to the Glue Factory. Week 5, 2010

When animating characters from different angles, it is often easier to flip images rather than draw new ones. While often this technique works, without careful attention the flip will reverse text or other asymmetric features unintentionally. The Brothers Chaps will sometimes do this intentionally as a parody of cheap or amateur animation, although sometimes they fall prey to this themselves. Matt Chapman has referred to this as "Blue Laser Commander eyepatch syndrome." Although this technique most often happens in alternate animation styles, such as in the Cheat Commandos series or in toons powered by The Cheat, it has also appeared in the standard animation style as well. In Search of the Yello Dello, released on Thursday, May 4, 2000, is a remake of the website's second oldest Big Toon, an older Yello Dello cartoon, similar in presentation to the oldest toon, The King of Town DVD. It includes the cartoon's new and improved version, audio commentary by Homestar Runner, Strong Bad, and Strong Sad, storyboards, the original version of the toon, a theatrical trailer, and deleted scenes. In the toon, done in a stylized design, Homestar wants to get Marzipan a birthday present, but he doesn't know what to get. Coach Z tells him to get her something rare and exotic, so Homestar, accompanied by Strong Sad and Pom Pom, sets out to catch the Yello Dello. (more...) watch

Week 3, 2010

In looking old, the 164th Strong Bad Email, released on Monday, January 22, 2007, Strong Bad receives an email from Andy Hsiao of Taiwan, who thinks he looks old and asks how old he is. He instantly starts worrying about "losing the youth vote" if the younger people think he looks old. He then calls an "emergency marketing meeting" to figure out ways on how to get an image overhaul to keep young, with help from The Cheat, Bubs, Marzipan and Strong Mad. But their ideas do not go over well with Strong Bad. Finally, he decides to resort to a "lace lift", with questionable results. (more...) watch

Week 2, 2010

Strong Bad's first attempt at drawing a dragon made in the Strong Bad Email dragon was a failed one, thus he added a caption reading The S is for Sucks to the picture. Strong Bad thinks it doesn't look natural. Its body is made from an S and a more-different S, and it has beefy arms and legs and a triangular head. The more popular Trogdor retains a single beefy arm coming out of the back of his neck (for good measure), a similarly-shaped body, and three spikes on his lower back. On the fifth anniversary of the email (in the toon Trogday 08), Strong Bad celebrated The S is for Sucks Dragon (instead of Trogdor) with both a children's alphabet song and a heavy metal song, in which this dragon is portrayed as an aquatic type of dragon, or sea serpent. The Timeline of Homestar Runner:

In the summer of 1996, Craig Zobel and Mike Chapman wrote "The Homestar Runner Enters the Strongest Man in the World Contest," the original book that created the Homestar Runner body of work and the characters Homestar Runner, Pom Pom, Strong Bad, and The Cheat. Later that year, Matt Chapman, Mike, and Craig made the Super NES video for The Brothers Chaps' brother Donnie as a Christmas present, marking the first appearances of Strong Sad and Strong Mad. Three years later, in 1999, they wrote another book, "Where My Hat Is At?", which introduced Coach Z and Bubs. On December 6 the domain name homestarrunner.com was registered, and on January 1, 2000, the website debuted with the original main page, Where My Hat Is At?, Super NES, several of the early games, and Marshmallow's Last Stand (pictured), the first Homestar Runner Flash cartoon. Marzipan, The King of Town, and The Poopsmith rounded out the original main cast. (more...)
