Fun Facts
Explanations
* Strong Sad's costume in the Catacombs is a passive optical marker motion capture suit, or at least an approximation of one. It is similar to the "motion capture suit" worn by Matt Chapman in Sample Of Style Too.
* Dangeresque Too's answer when asked about the trinket ("The doctor is his MOTHER!") is the solution to a lateral-thinking conundrum. The conundrum goes "a boy and his father stalled their car on a set of train tracks. A train hit the car, killing the father and wounding the boy. When the boy was taken to the hospital, the doctor on duty exclaimed, 'I can't operate on this boy; he's my son!' How can this be?"
* A "romcom" is a romantic comedy.
* "Post", mentioned when Dangeresque first meets the monster in the catacombs, refers to post-production.
* Pick-ups are minor shots filmed during post-production in order to augment footage already filmed.
* The Irish Informant's name, Cecil van Gough, combines Cecil, a common first name in Ireland, with Vincent van Gogh, an artist — which makes his job as an art critic unsurprising.
* The Tokyo Informant's name, Stoolie Rat Weasel, is a hint. A stoolie (stool pigeon) is an informant, rat is also informally used to mean an informant, and weasel is informally used to mean a deceitful person. (The presence of Perducci's bullet in Tokyo is also a hint, among other things.)
* An "Uzi" is a type of submachine gun, and a "bazooka" is a type of rocket launcher.
* In addition to being a portmanteau of "mall" and "movies", the name of the Malvies Catacombs is likely a pun on the Maldives.

Trivia
* This is the first episode of SBCG4AP where the House of Strong cannot be navigated, and it is the first episode not to have a Teen Girl Squad comic.
* This is also the first SBCG4AP episode in which Mike Chapman does a voice, namely the voice of Craig.
* If he catches her during the stand-off on the roof of Bubs' Concession Stand, Uzi Bazooka calls Cutesy Buttons "Missy".
* A blooper from this game of Bubs' line "Oh, you know him more than you know that you know that you know... him... or somethin'." was put on the website as Quote of the Week on 11th September 2008, just over two months before the game's release.
* Strong Bad had said in stunt double that Dangeresque 3 would be in 3D. However, it was depicted as an anaglyph image rather than a computer generated image.

The conundrum goes "a boy and his father stalled their car on a set of train tracks. A train hit the car, killing the father and wounding the boy. </li><li>The Tokyo Informant's name, Stoolie Rat Weasel, is a hint. A stoolie (stool pigeon) is an informant, rat is also informally used to mean an informant, and weasel is informally used to mean a deceitful person. (The presence of Perducci's bullet in Tokyo is also a hint, among other things.)

<ul><li>If the preview is watched following the end credits of <a href="/index.php?title=Baddest_of_the_Bands" title="Baddest of the Bands">Baddest of the Bands</a>, The Stick appears in the background behind Bubs' stand, still covered in toilet paper. Watching the preview from the main menu, however, does not show The Stick at all.
</li><li>Strong Bad's nunchuck gun is a revolver. However, revolvers do not "jam".
</li><li>It took Strong Bad over 4 1/2 years to complete this "blockbuster", as <a href="/index.php?title=dangeresque_3" title="dangeresque 3">dangeresque 3</a> marked the 114th day of production.
</li><li>Strong Sad's drawing of a dragon can be seen in Dangeresque's office, even though Strong Bad burned it in <a href="/index.php?title=dragon" title="dragon">dragon</a>.
</li><li>In the tutorial for this episode, Strong Bad wears the Dangeresque shades throughout most of it, taking them off at Bubs' Concession Stand.
</li><li>The smoky office has the shark pond and picket fence just outside the window, suggesting it should be located in the center of the Field, probably behind the camera as Strong Bad walks around. However, shots across the Field, over characters' shoulders, show nothing there.
</li><li>After being threatened to be transferred to "Nerd Prison", Bubs pronounces Dangeresque's name correctly despite typically pronouncing it "Danger-skew".
</li><li>When the monster is revealed in the catacombs, Strong Bad says "Holy Cra", but after the pause, he says "-rap", suggesting he said "Holy Crarap".
</li><li>The King of Town, against his word in his last line in the film as Perducci, does not attend the premiere.
</li><li>All of the "exotic locales" at the stone bridge are cities except for "Ireland", a country.
</li><li>Strong Bad would imply in a <a href="/index.php?title=%40StrongBadActual_Tweets_2018" title="@StrongBadActual Tweets 2018">tweet</a> in 2018 that the game was not canon.
</li></ul>
<a id="Goofs" name="Goofs"></a><h3> <span class="mw-headline">Goofs</span></h3>
<ul><li>When the player selects the podium in Ireland and Strong Bad starts talking about how he busted up a ring of counterfeit three-leaf-thousand dollar bills, the subtitles say "butsed" instead of "busted".
</li><li>The <a href="/index.php?title=Lappy_486" title="Lappy 486">Lappy 486</a> has a black outline in this episode, instead of it being colored as in every other appearance.
</li><li>If Dangeresque looks out the window after Cutesy Buttons gets kidnapped, the video of Marzipan watching Credenza in the shark pond will play, except without the animation of Marzipan. Afterward, her filler lines will play even though she is not present.
</li><li>In extended play, several scenes involving Renaldo will replay without his being there.
</li><li>The "Renaldo Fun Sheets" is actually a pillowcase.
</li><li>In the opening to the car chase scene, as Strong Bad speaks the line "Make it snappy, Yellow 5!", The Cheat runs backwards twice without returning to the front in between. This is because the game loads the following scene involving Strong Mad when the first scene just had The Cheat and the car.
</li><li>Sometimes when Dangeresque checks emails, his trademark glasses are not visible in his reflection on the Lappy's screen.  Occasionally, Strong Bad's reflection will not appear at all.
</li><li>Experimento's list of ingredients on the black board calls for a "bubbly drink", but characters always read it as "bubbly liquid".
</li><li>Though the characters always refer to Experimento as being a Professor, the mouse-over text for him calls him Doctor.
</li><li>Look at the chair in the night time dream sequence office, and Dangeresque will comment on how you can "see [his] butt print worn on the chair." However, the subtitles misspell butt as but.
</li><li>After telling Sultry Buttons he'll shower her with jewels, Strong Bad (as Dangeresque) says "...I'm never gonna go" but the subtitles read "...I'm never going to go to".
</li><li>In the ending scene in the basement, Marzipan does not say "required", but the subtitles include the word.
</li><li>One of the emails will remain labeled as "unread" even after Strong Bad reads it.
</li><li>If Dangeresque goes directly to Venice after the car chase scene without going to Experimento's lab, and talks to the informant, Sultry Buttons will be an option even though Dangeresque doesn't know about her being a jewel thief yet.
</li><li>If Dangeresque plays the Ace of Spaces on Perducci whilst holding the rock, Perducci will somehow pull <i>another</i> rock. Dangeresque will have the opportunity to grab it, but he will not gain another rock nor lose the one he already had.
</li><li>While Cutesy Buttons has a unique response for being shown the Diet Brown in the office, attempting to give it to her at her house gives the generic response, causing Dangeresque to refer to her as "he". Attempting to give the Diet Brown to Sultry Buttons will similarly cause Dangeresque to refer to her as male.

This is due to an oversight, as the costume item was enabled on default in the Wii version, but not on the PC version.

<a id="Wii_Version" name="Wii_Version"></a><h4> <span class="mw-headline">Wii Version</span></h4>
<ul><li>The manual page in the catacombs area is unobtainable in extended play.
</li><li>In extended play mode, the rollover for Cutesy Buttons reads "Cutest Buttons".
</li><li>The Informant says there are four of them altogether, but the text reads "all together"
</li><li>If Dangeresque uses the oil slick 2 times, every time he uses a voice command, Killingyouguy (Strong Mad) will regain his balance even though there is no oil to slip on. This can be undone by grabbing the sawmerang (which can be obtained by using the voice commands).
</li></ul>
<a id="Glitches" name="Glitches"></a><h3> <span class="mw-headline">Glitches</span></h3>
<ul><li>On occasion, the moving objects in <a href="/index.php?title=Space_Circus_Catastrophe" title="Space Circus Catastrophe">Space Circus Catastrophe</a> will disappear.
</li><li>Sometimes, Dangeresque's nunchuck gun will appear floating in Venice.
</li><li>The metal detector reacts at every world location, but Perducci's bullet can only be found at Tokyo (in standard play) and Venice (in extended play). In addition, it continues to react even after Perducci's bullet has been found.
</li><li>If the cereal box was acquired from the Stick during standard play, the extra can of Diet Brown on the table in the Office during extended play simply vanishes shortly after Strong Bad's introduction.
</li><li>The disk box is missing from the Secret Lab during extended play.
</li><li>Clicking the window right after retrieving Credenza causes Marzipan to continue speaking (i.e. "Hang in there Credenza!"), which continues even after she leaves.
</li><li>At most times, the buttons located at the top of the screen will move up and stay there making the player unable to pull up the map or inventory or snappy or main menu even by pressing the hot key. This glitch can be fixed if there is an exit located at the map. If not, then the player needs to reset the game.
</li><li>When asleep in Extended Play, looking at the chair in the <a href="/index.php?title=Smoky_Office" title="Smoky Office">Smoky Office</a> will afterwards cause Dangeresque's glasses to appear on him again, even if the player had changed Dangeresque's costume.
</li><li>Sometimes for some unknown reason on the PC version of the game, at the very beginning when Dangeresque pulls out the diamond, the computer will restart.
</li><li>Sometimes when freeing Renaldo in extended play, the costume items Strong Bad is wearing will hover in the air. Then, when it cuts back to Strong Bad, he will be wearing a second pair of Dangeresque glasses. This can be fixed by leaving the sun base.
</li><li>If Dangeresque pours the formula on The Stick to make the cereal box appear and then exits and re-enters The Field without picking it up, the cereal box will appear floating over the Shark Pond.
</li><li>In the car chase scene, sometimes when it cuts to Killingyouguy after he is attacked, the tree will keep moving without The Cheat carrying it.
</li><li>In the PS3 version, the on-screen instructions for Space Circus Catastrophe state that the Square button will launch a rescue bubble.  In actuality, the Circle button launches the bubble, and the Square button launches a bomb.
</li><li>Rarely, the game will lose its previous "position" in the GSPTK (map) when it is next opened. This can allow access to locations that are not supposed to be available yet, such as the Space Station at the very beginning of the game.

Remarks
* If the preview is watched following the end credits of Baddest of the Bands, The Stick appears in the background behind Bubs' stand, still covered in toilet paper. Watching the preview from the main menu, however, does not show The Stick at all.
* Strong Bad's nunchuck gun is a revolver. However, revolvers do not "jam".
* It took Strong Bad over 4 1/2 years to complete this "blockbuster", as dangeresque 3 marked the 114th day of production.
* Strong Sad's drawing of a dragon can be seen in Dangeresque's office, even though Strong Bad burned it in dragon.
* In the tutorial for this episode, Strong Bad wears the Dangeresque shades throughout most of it, taking them off at Bubs' Concession Stand.
* The smoky office has the shark pond and picket fence just outside the window, suggesting it should be located in the center of the Field, probably behind the camera as Strong Bad walks around. However, shots across the Field, over characters' shoulders, show nothing there.
* After being threatened to be transferred to "Nerd Prison", Bubs pronounces Dangeresque's name correctly despite typically pronouncing it "Danger-skew".
* When the monster is revealed in the catacombs, Strong Bad says "Holy Cra", but after the pause, he says "-rap", suggesting he said "Holy Crarap".
* The King of Town, against his word in his last line in the film as Perducci, does not attend the premiere.
* All of the "exotic locales" at the stone bridge are cities except for "Ireland", a country.
* Strong Bad would imply in a tweet in 2018 that the game was not canon.
Goofs
* When the player selects the podium in Ireland and Strong Bad starts talking about how he busted up a ring of counterfeit three-leaf-thousand dollar bills, the subtitles say "butsed" instead of "busted".
* The Lappy 486 has a black outline in this episode, instead of it being colored as in every other appearance.
* If Dangeresque looks out the window after Cutesy Buttons gets kidnapped, the video of Marzipan watching Credenza in the shark pond will play, except without the animation of Marzipan. Afterward, her filler lines will play even though she is not present.
* In extended play, several scenes involving Renaldo will replay without his being there.
* The "Renaldo Fun Sheets" is actually a pillowcase.
* In the opening to the car chase scene, as Strong Bad speaks the line "Make it snappy, Yellow 5!", The Cheat runs backwards twice without returning to the front in between. This is because the game loads the following scene involving Strong Mad when the first scene just had The Cheat and the car.
* Sometimes when Dangeresque checks emails, his trademark glasses are not visible in his reflection on the Lappy's screen. Occasionally, Strong Bad's reflection will not appear at all.
* Experimento's list of ingredients on the black board calls for a "bubbly drink", but characters always read it as "bubbly liquid".
* Though the characters always refer to Experimento as being a Professor, the mouse-over text for him calls him Doctor.
* Look at the chair in the night time dream sequence office, and Dangeresque will comment on how you can "see [his] butt print worn on the chair." However, the subtitles misspell butt as but.
* After telling Sultry Buttons he'll shower her with jewels, Strong Bad (as Dangeresque) says "...I'm never gonna go" but the subtitles read "...I'm never going to go to".
* In the ending scene in the basement, Marzipan does not say "required", but the subtitles include the word.
* One of the emails will remain labeled as "unread" even after Strong Bad reads it.
* If Dangeresque goes directly to Venice after the car chase scene without going to Experimento's lab, and talks to the informant, Sultry Buttons will be an option even though Dangeresque doesn't know about her being a jewel thief yet.
* If Dangeresque plays the Ace of Spaces on Perducci whilst holding the rock, Perducci will somehow pull another rock. Dangeresque will have the opportunity to grab it, but he will not gain another rock nor lose the one he already had.
* While Cutesy Buttons has a unique response for being shown the Diet Brown in the office, attempting to give it to her at her house gives the generic response, causing Dangeresque to refer to her as "he". Attempting to give the Diet Brown to Sultry Buttons will similarly cause Dangeresque to refer to her as male.
PC Version
* According to a thread on the Telltale Games community, the PC version misses one costume item (the "big hair"). This is due to an oversight, as the costume item was enabled on default in the Wii version, but not on the PC version.
Wii Version
* The manual page in the catacombs area is unobtainable in extended play.
* In extended play mode, the rollover for Cutesy Buttons reads "Cutest Buttons".
* The Informant says there are four of them altogether, but the text reads "all together"
* If Dangeresque uses the oil slick 2 times, every time he uses a voice command, Killingyouguy (Strong Mad) will regain his balance even though there is no oil to slip on. This can be undone by grabbing the sawmerang (which can be obtained by using the voice commands).
Glitches
* On occasion, the moving objects in Space Circus Catastrophe will disappear.
* Sometimes, Dangeresque's nunchuck gun will appear floating in Venice.
* The metal detector reacts at every world location, but Perducci's bullet can only be found at Tokyo (in standard play) and Venice (in extended play). In addition, it continues to react even after Perducci's bullet has been found.
* If the cereal box was acquired from the Stick during standard play, the extra can of Diet Brown on the table in the Office during extended play simply vanishes shortly after Strong Bad's introduction.
* The disk box is missing from the Secret Lab during extended play.
* Clicking the window right after retrieving Credenza causes Marzipan to continue speaking (i.e. "Hang in there Credenza!"), which continues even after she leaves.
* At most times, the buttons located at the top of the screen will move up and stay there making the player unable to pull up the map or inventory or snappy or main menu even by pressing the hot key. This glitch can be fixed if there is an exit located at the map. If not, then the player needs to reset the game.
* When asleep in Extended Play, looking at the chair in the Smoky Office will afterwards cause Dangeresque's glasses to appear on him again, even if the player had changed Dangeresque's costume.
* Sometimes for some unknown reason on the PC version of the game, at the very beginning when Dangeresque pulls out the diamond, the computer will restart.
* Sometimes when freeing Renaldo in extended play, the costume items Strong Bad is wearing will hover in the air. Then, when it cuts back to Strong Bad, he will be wearing a second pair of Dangeresque glasses. This can be fixed by leaving the sun base.
* If Dangeresque pours the formula on The Stick to make the cereal box appear and then exits and re-enters The Field without picking it up, the cereal box will appear floating over the Shark Pond.
* In the car chase scene, sometimes when it cuts to Killingyouguy after he is attacked, the tree will keep moving without The Cheat carrying it.
* In the PS3 version, the on-screen instructions for Space Circus Catastrophe state that the Square button will launch a rescue bubble. In actuality, the Circle button launches the bubble, and the Square button launches a bomb.
* Rarely, the game will lose its previous "position" in the GSPTK (map) when it is next opened. This can allow access to locations that are not supposed to be available yet, such as the Space Station at the very beginning of the game.
Inside References
* As with most of the music that appeared in previous SGCG4AP episodes, several music pieces introduced here come from toons:
** In several scenes throughout the episode, including the opening credits, rooftop standoff, and car chase sequence, a slightly modified instrumental version of The Theme from Dangeresque II plays.
** The karaoke version of the Dangeresque theme plays in Perducci's club.
** The instrumental version of Food-Related Love, as performed by Pomstar in Baddest of the Bands, is re-used as backing music at Cutesy's House.
* The two pieces of art in Dangeresque's office depict Strong Sad's dragon from dragon, and the "Deutsch Master" painting from portrait.
** Additionally, the painting that Perducci carries with him throughout the movie is the Painting of a Guy with a Big Knife.
* Diet Brown originated in Teen Girl Squad Issue 13.
* Several references are made to previous SBCG4AP episodes. Notably:
** Coach Z's stunt double was a potted plant that appeared in the King of Town's castle in Homestar Ruiner.
** The autopilot in the car was Bubs' security robot in Baddest of the Bands.
** When Strong Sad acts as Homestar's stunt double, he wears the float head Strong Bad used in Homestar Ruiner.
** One of Homestar's "demands" was a million dollars in quesos, which was the Strong Badian currency in Strong Badia the Free.
** In extended play, inspecting the skulls in the catacombs will have Strong Bad reveal that they're the same ones Marzipan made for Strong Mad's short-lived Country in Strong Badia the Free.
** The joystick control for the helicopter set is the pogo stick used for the Race to the End of the Race in Homestar Ruiner.
** Strong Bad's line "Do you have any fruit to declare?" when interrogating one of the City Limits signs at Brainblow City is a repeat of one of Homestar's lines at Marzistar in Strong Badia the Free.
* In the opening, a billboard can be seen advertising for The Pizz from pizza joint.
* When in Strong Borneo, Dangeresque and Renaldo use the Riverquest Safariventure box from theme park. During extended play, Strong Bad will acknowledge this, even going as far as mentioning the email itself.
* Strong Bad's line "Oh, so that's why you don't dance no more" mimics a line from New Boots.
* Strong Sad's line, "Only that I am not one of his minions," is from dangeresque 3.
* In extended play, Strong Bad mentions that one of the matte paintings was painted by a guy named Matt.
* Strong Bad twice refers to a drink as being not a Cold One, and once mentions Cold Ones specifically.
* When speaking to Renaldo at his retirement party, Renaldo mentions cocoa butter, previously mentioned in suntan.
* Many of Strong Bad's lines when putting on clothing in the Snap Shak are slightly paraphrased quotes from modeling.
* Strong Bad's "rhinociraptors" is a portmanteau of "rhinoceros" and "velociraptors".
* Strong Bad mentions that Perducci smells of mints and gravy, a reference to the ice cream flavors seen in the King of Town's castle in the bet.
* One of the onions in Cutesy Buttons's enriched garden is Onion Bubs.
* Strong Bad refers to Dadgeresque as being "crazy go insane".
* One of the cards in the deck is the Cheatball.
* The Cheat's speech in the game's climax had a reference to the Action Cool 5 news team.
* In some unused dialogue from the game's ending, Renaldo brings up "Large Craig" as a more fitting name for a criminal mastermind than plain Craig. Large Craig was one of the guest stars on Peacey P's album in Teen Girl Squad Issue 13.
* The following running gags make appearances in the game:

"Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective" is the fourth episode of the video game series Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People. Produced by Telltale Games, "Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective" was directed by Mark Darin and written by Darin and the Brothers Chaps. The game was rated E10+ by the ESRB for "Alcohol and Tobacco Reference, Crude Humor, and Mild Cartoon Violence".

The long-awaited third episode of the much-beloved and well-acted Dangeresque series is finally released to the world! Dangeresque will have to solve a number of mysteries — where is his father, why has Cutesy Buttons been kidnapped, and just who is the nefarious Uzi Bazooka?

A brief trailer for this game is included in the previous episode, "Baddest of the Bands".

"Take the shot!"

{The "On the next episode of SBCG4AP..." screen is shown.}

{Homestar as Dangeresque Too? is in the Field.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: {whispers} Okay, now? Okay—

{Strong Bad as Dangeresque peers from behind Bubs' Stand.}

STRONG BAD: {whispers} Shut up! We're rolling!

{The screen flares "STRONG BAD is 'Dangeresque'" in blue text, but then fades into orange text. A slight beat starts.}

{Strong Bad and Homestar are sitting in the Gremlin. The Cheat can just barely be seen running past the car with a tree to simulate movement.}

STRONG BAD: I'm wanted outside Brainblow City for "Undisclothed Violations". If I go beyond this point, I could be shot on sight!

HOMESTAR RUNNER: {sounding annoyed} Take the shot!

{The screen flares "HOMESTAR RUNNER is 'Dangeresque, Too?'" in blue text, but then fades to orange, just like the last caption.}

{Homestar is back in the Field.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: You got what you had coming to you, {he takes off his Dangeresque, Too? glasses} Toe-fu!

{The screen flares "DANGERESQUE 3: The Criminal Projective" in the same manner as "HOMESTAR RUNNER is 'Dangeresque, Too?'" and "STRONG BAD is 'Dangeresque'", then the text zooms into orange and displays "New episode every month!"}

{Homestar and Strong Bad are on top of Bubs' Stand.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER AND STRONG BAD: {simultaneously} Looks like we're gonna have to jump!

{Homestar and Strong Bad jump off of Bubs' Stand, the screen freezes and fades a little into orange and displays on the Wii version "Play it on Wiiware", and on the PC version, "www.telltalegames.com".}

Fun Facts

Explanations

  • Strong Sad's costume in the Catacombs is a passive optical marker motion capture suit, or at least an approximation of one. It is similar to the "motion capture suit" worn by Matt Chapman in Sample Of Style Too.
  • Dangeresque Too's answer when asked about the trinket ("The doctor is his MOTHER!") is the solution to a lateral-thinking conundrum. The conundrum goes "a boy and his father stalled their car on a set of train tracks. A train hit the car, killing the father and wounding the boy. When the boy was taken to the hospital, the doctor on duty exclaimed, 'I can't operate on this boy; he's my son!' How can this be?"
  • A "romcom" is a romantic comedy.
  • "Post", mentioned when Dangeresque first meets the monster in the catacombs, refers to post-production.
  • Pick-ups are minor shots filmed during post-production in order to augment footage already filmed.
  • The Irish Informant's name, Cecil van Gough, combines Cecil, a common first name in Ireland, with Vincent van Gogh, an artist — which makes his job as an art critic unsurprising.
  • The Tokyo Informant's name, Stoolie Rat Weasel, is a hint. A stoolie (stool pigeon) is an informant, rat is also informally used to mean an informant, and weasel is informally used to mean a deceitful person. (The presence of Perducci's bullet in Tokyo is also a hint, among other things.)
  • An "Uzi" is a type of submachine gun, and a "bazooka" is a type of rocket launcher.
  • In addition to being a portmanteau of "mall" and "movies", the name of the Malvies Catacombs is likely a pun on the Maldives.

Trivia

  • This is the first episode of SBCG4AP where the House of Strong cannot be navigated, and it is the first episode not to have a Teen Girl Squad comic.
  • This is also the first SBCG4AP episode in which Mike Chapman does a voice, namely the voice of Craig.
  • If he catches her during the stand-off on the roof of Bubs' Concession Stand, Uzi Bazooka calls Cutesy Buttons "Missy".
  • A blooper from this game of Bubs' line "Oh, you know him more than you know that you know that you know... him... or somethin'." was put on the website as Quote of the Week on 11th September 2008, just over two months before the game's release.
  • Strong Bad had said in stunt double that Dangeresque 3 would be in 3D. However, it was depicted as an anaglyph image rather than a computer generated image.
  • The end credits for the movie itself read:

Written and directed by Strong Bad

Dangeresque -- Strong Bad
Dangeresque Too -- Homestar Runner
DADgeresque - Senor Cardgage
Renaldo -- Coach Z
Perducci -- The King of Town
Diamonocle -- Bubs
Cutesy Buttons -- Marzipan
Sultry Buttons -- Marzipan
Killingyouguy -- Himself
Buncha Dopey Informants -- El Dumpo the Wide
Craig -- The Cheat

Remarks

  • If the preview is watched following the end credits of Baddest of the Bands, The Stick appears in the background behind Bubs' stand, still covered in toilet paper. Watching the preview from the main menu, however, does not show The Stick at all.
  • Strong Bad's nunchuck gun is a revolver. However, revolvers do not "jam".
  • It took Strong Bad over 4 1/2 years to complete this "blockbuster", as dangeresque 3 marked the 114th day of production.
  • Strong Sad's drawing of a dragon can be seen in Dangeresque's office, even though Strong Bad burned it in dragon.
  • In the tutorial for this episode, Strong Bad wears the Dangeresque shades throughout most of it, taking them off at Bubs' Concession Stand.
  • The smoky office has the shark pond and picket fence just outside the window, suggesting it should be located in the center of the Field, probably behind the camera as Strong Bad walks around. However, shots across the Field, over characters' shoulders, show nothing there.
  • After being threatened to be transferred to "Nerd Prison", Bubs pronounces Dangeresque's name correctly despite typically pronouncing it "Danger-skew".
  • When the monster is revealed in the catacombs, Strong Bad says "Holy Cra", but after the pause, he says "-rap", suggesting he said "Holy Crarap".
  • The King of Town, against his word in his last line in the film as Perducci, does not attend the premiere.
  • All of the "exotic locales" at the stone bridge are cities except for "Ireland", a country.
  • Strong Bad would imply in a tweet in 2018 that the game was not canon.

Goofs

  • When the player selects the podium in Ireland and Strong Bad starts talking about how he busted up a ring of counterfeit three-leaf-thousand dollar bills, the subtitles say "butsed" instead of "busted".
  • The Lappy 486 has a black outline in this episode, instead of it being colored as in every other appearance.
  • If Dangeresque looks out the window after Cutesy Buttons gets kidnapped, the video of Marzipan watching Credenza in the shark pond will play, except without the animation of Marzipan. Afterward, her filler lines will play even though she is not present.
  • In extended play, several scenes involving Renaldo will replay without his being there.
  • The "Renaldo Fun Sheets" is actually a pillowcase.
  • In the opening to the car chase scene, as Strong Bad speaks the line "Make it snappy, Yellow 5!", The Cheat runs backwards twice without returning to the front in between. This is because the game loads the following scene involving Strong Mad when the first scene just had The Cheat and the car.
  • Sometimes when Dangeresque checks emails, his trademark glasses are not visible in his reflection on the Lappy's screen. Occasionally, Strong Bad's reflection will not appear at all.
  • Experimento's list of ingredients on the black board calls for a "bubbly drink", but characters always read it as "bubbly liquid".
  • Though the characters always refer to Experimento as being a Professor, the mouse-over text for him calls him Doctor.
  • Look at the chair in the night time dream sequence office, and Dangeresque will comment on how you can "see [his] butt print worn on the chair." However, the subtitles misspell butt as but.
  • After telling Sultry Buttons he'll shower her with jewels, Strong Bad (as Dangeresque) says "...I'm never gonna go" but the subtitles read "...I'm never going to go to".
  • In the ending scene in the basement, Marzipan does not say "required", but the subtitles include the word.
  • One of the emails will remain labeled as "unread" even after Strong Bad reads it.
  • If Dangeresque goes directly to Venice after the car chase scene without going to Experimento's lab, and talks to the informant, Sultry Buttons will be an option even though Dangeresque doesn't know about her being a jewel thief yet.
  • If Dangeresque plays the Ace of Spaces on Perducci whilst holding the rock, Perducci will somehow pull another rock. Dangeresque will have the opportunity to grab it, but he will not gain another rock nor lose the one he already had.
  • While Cutesy Buttons has a unique response for being shown the Diet Brown in the office, attempting to give it to her at her house gives the generic response, causing Dangeresque to refer to her as "he". Attempting to give the Diet Brown to Sultry Buttons will similarly cause Dangeresque to refer to her as male.

PC Version

  • According to a thread on the Telltale Games community, the PC version misses one costume item (the "big hair"). This is due to an oversight, as the costume item was enabled on default in the Wii version, but not on the PC version.

Wii Version

  • The manual page in the catacombs area is unobtainable in extended play.
  • In extended play mode, the rollover for Cutesy Buttons reads "Cutest Buttons".
  • The Informant says there are four of them altogether, but the text reads "all together"
  • If Dangeresque uses the oil slick 2 times, every time he uses a voice command, Killingyouguy (Strong Mad) will regain his balance even though there is no oil to slip on. This can be undone by grabbing the sawmerang (which can be obtained by using the voice commands).

Glitches

  • On occasion, the moving objects in Space Circus Catastrophe will disappear.
  • Sometimes, Dangeresque's nunchuck gun will appear floating in Venice.
  • The metal detector reacts at every world location, but Perducci's bullet can only be found at Tokyo (in standard play) and Venice (in extended play). In addition, it continues to react even after Perducci's bullet has been found.
  • If the cereal box was acquired from the Stick during standard play, the extra can of Diet Brown on the table in the Office during extended play simply vanishes shortly after Strong Bad's introduction.
  • The disk box is missing from the Secret Lab during extended play.
  • Clicking the window right after retrieving Credenza causes Marzipan to continue speaking (i.e. "Hang in there Credenza!"), which continues even after she leaves.
  • At most times, the buttons located at the top of the screen will move up and stay there making the player unable to pull up the map or inventory or snappy or main menu even by pressing the hot key. This glitch can be fixed if there is an exit located at the map. If not, then the player needs to reset the game.
  • When asleep in Extended Play, looking at the chair in the Smoky Office will afterwards cause Dangeresque's glasses to appear on him again, even if the player had changed Dangeresque's costume.
  • Sometimes for some unknown reason on the PC version of the game, at the very beginning when Dangeresque pulls out the diamond, the computer will restart.
  • Sometimes when freeing Renaldo in extended play, the costume items Strong Bad is wearing will hover in the air. Then, when it cuts back to Strong Bad, he will be wearing a second pair of Dangeresque glasses. This can be fixed by leaving the sun base.
  • If Dangeresque pours the formula on The Stick to make the cereal box appear and then exits and re-enters The Field without picking it up, the cereal box will appear floating over the Shark Pond.
  • In the car chase scene, sometimes when it cuts to Killingyouguy after he is attacked, the tree will keep moving without The Cheat carrying it.
  • In the PS3 version, the on-screen instructions for Space Circus Catastrophe state that the Square button will launch a rescue bubble. In actuality, the Circle button launches the bubble, and the Square button launches a bomb.
  • Rarely, the game will lose its previous "position" in the GSPTK (map) when it is next opened. This can allow access to locations that are not supposed to be available yet, such as the Space Station at the very beginning of the game.

Inside References

  • As with most of the music that appeared in previous SGCG4AP episodes, several music pieces introduced here come from toons:
    • In several scenes throughout the episode, including the opening credits, rooftop standoff, and car chase sequence, a slightly modified instrumental version of The Theme from Dangeresque II plays.
    • The karaoke version of the Dangeresque theme plays in Perducci's club.
    • The instrumental version of Food-Related Love, as performed by Pomstar in Baddest of the Bands, is re-used as backing music at Cutesy's House.
  • The two pieces of art in Dangeresque's office depict Strong Sad's dragon from dragon, and the "Deutsch Master" painting from portrait.
  • Diet Brown originated in Teen Girl Squad Issue 13.
  • Several references are made to previous SBCG4AP episodes. Notably:
    • Coach Z's stunt double was a potted plant that appeared in the King of Town's castle in Homestar Ruiner.
    • The autopilot in the car was Bubs' security robot in Baddest of the Bands.
    • When Strong Sad acts as Homestar's stunt double, he wears the float head Strong Bad used in Homestar Ruiner.
    • One of Homestar's "demands" was a million dollars in quesos, which was the Strong Badian currency in Strong Badia the Free.
    • In extended play, inspecting the skulls in the catacombs will have Strong Bad reveal that they're the same ones Marzipan made for Strong Mad's short-lived Country in Strong Badia the Free.
    • The joystick control for the helicopter set is the pogo stick used for the Race to the End of the Race in Homestar Ruiner.
    • Strong Bad's line "Do you have any fruit to declare?" when interrogating one of the City Limits signs at Brainblow City is a repeat of one of Homestar's lines at Marzistar in Strong Badia the Free.
  • In the opening, a billboard can be seen advertising for The Pizz from pizza joint.
  • When in Strong Borneo, Dangeresque and Renaldo use the Riverquest Safariventure box from theme park. During extended play, Strong Bad will acknowledge this, even going as far as mentioning the email itself.
  • Strong Bad's line "Oh, so that's why you don't dance no more" mimics a line from New Boots.
  • Strong Sad's line, "Only that I am not one of his minions," is from dangeresque 3.
  • In extended play, Strong Bad mentions that one of the matte paintings was painted by a guy named Matt.
  • Strong Bad twice refers to a drink as being not a Cold One, and once mentions Cold Ones specifically.
  • When speaking to Renaldo at his retirement party, Renaldo mentions cocoa butter, previously mentioned in suntan.
  • Many of Strong Bad's lines when putting on clothing in the Snap Shak are slightly paraphrased quotes from modeling.
  • Strong Bad's "rhinociraptors" is a portmanteau of "rhinoceros" and "velociraptors".
  • Strong Bad mentions that Perducci smells of mints and gravy, a reference to the ice cream flavors seen in the King of Town's castle in the bet.
  • One of the onions in Cutesy Buttons's enriched garden is Onion Bubs.
  • Strong Bad refers to Dadgeresque as being "crazy go insane".
  • One of the cards in the deck is the Cheatball.
  • The Cheat's speech in the game's climax had a reference to the Action Cool 5 news team.
  • In some unused dialogue from the game's ending, Renaldo brings up "Large Craig" as a more fitting name for a criminal mastermind than plain Craig. Large Craig was one of the guest stars on Peacey P's album in Teen Girl Squad Issue 13.
  • The following running gags make appearances in the game:

Real-World References

  • The format of the text in the opening credits is the same as the movie Lethal Weapon.
    • When the player points the nunchuck gun at Dangeresque Too, he asks, "Do you want to get crazy? Oh, I'll get crazy!" Mel Gibson's character Martin Riggs says something very similar in Lethal Weapon.
  • In responding to the first email, Dangeresque says that in basic training at Crooked Cop Academy "you learn how to make cool noises with your mouth". This is a reference Michael Winslow's Police Academy character Sgt. Larvell "Motor Mouth" Jones.
  • The videotape of the villain brushing The Cheat's hair while his face is hidden references James Bond villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld.
  • Dangeresque misunderstands Perducci's game of rock, paper, Baccarat, as "Rocks, Papers and Burt Bacharach".
  • When Perducci plays the Ace of Spades, Dangeresque says it in a similar sounding way to the chorus of the Motorhead song "Ace of Spades".
  • The "time card" in Perducci's game is for Embarrassing Idol, one of the shows being filmed at the TV studio in Sam and Max Episode 102: Situation: Comedy. The card itself comes from Sam and Max Episode 204: Chariot of the Dogs.
    • If Dangeresque uses the phone in his office, one of the responses involves Dangeresque getting a call from the Commissioner, asking him to do something "to a rabbit", and Dangeresque telling him "You got the wrong number", another reference to the Sam and Max franchise: the Freelance Police received most of their assignments over the phone from "the Commissioner".
    • One of the backgrounds in the Snap Shak is for Sam & Max's office building and Bosco's Inconvenience Store.
    • The drawing of the Office also looks almost exactly like Sam & Max's building, including the two-tone siding and the rounded windows.
  • Dangeresque shouts "Another boot to the head, and one for Jenny and The Wimp!" as he fights the Bear Holding a Shark, a reference to "Last Will and Temperament", a skit by The Frantics where various heirs in a will get "boots to the head".
  • The term "a Jessica Tandy joint" refers to the British-American actress, Jessica Alice Tandy and director Spike Lee, who uses the credit "A Spike Lee Joint" rather than the typical "A Spike Lee Film."
  • When preparing to go to the sun, Strong Bad uses the phrase "It's dark and I'm wearing sunglasses", a quote from the 1980 movie The Blues Brothers.
  • The "ruby" on powering Dr. Experimento's rocket is a red Ring Pop candy.
  • Strong Bad's line "It's what plants crave!" references the film Idiocracy, in which a drink called Brawndo is promoted with the same slogan.
  • Strong Bad once refers to Homestar as "Mushmouth", the name of a character in Bill Cosby's Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids.
  • Strong Bad mentions the XFL, a defunct football league run by pro wrestling promoter Vince McMahon.
  • The Purple Nose of Cairo that Sultry Buttons steals in Cairo references the movie The Purple Rose of Cairo.
  • Dangeresque attempts to disable the drill in the sun base by attacking it with the "Four Fingered Exploding Fist of the Lotus Knuckle" maneuver, similar to the "Five Point Exploding Heart Technique" used by The Bride to kill Bill in the movie Kill Bill.
  • When Dadgeresque dies, Dangeresque responds by stringing together the names of a bunch of sappy love songs - specifically Bette Midler's "Wind Beneath My Wings" and the Carpenters' "We've Only Just Begun" - but ends randomly with Cyndi Lauper's "She Bop".
  • When Dangeresque finds the third manual page (in Strong Borneo), he remarks that the map of the solar system is "out of date". This is likely a reference to the fact that Pluto, which appears on the map, is no longer classified as a planet.
  • Strong Bad calls Uzi Bazooka "Traitor Joe".
  • Multiple moments reference Indiana Jones movies, due to their similar themes of globetrotting adventure.
    • Dangeresque says that the paintings in the office "belong in a museum", referencing Jones declaring the same thing about an artifact in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
    • Renaldo saying "All we want is the girl!" is a reference to Jones negotiating for Marion's release in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
    • Strong Bad saying "Ahh, Venice!", a line Jones repeats while visiting the city in Last Crusade.
    • Uzi Bazooka shoots Dadgeresque in a manner very similar to when Indiana Jones's father is shot in Last Crusade.
  • When Dangeresque aims his gun at Uzi Bazooka after Dadgeresque is killed, he rather embellishes on a quote from The Princess Bride.
  • Strong Bad's GSPTK is a reference to the GPSTK, or Global Positioning Satellite ToolKit, a suite of open-source programs designed to assist researchers in using the GPS network.
  • Strong Bad's line "I'll always have Paris on my map" is a reference to the movie Casablanca.
  • Strong Bad mentions having a license to kill, which refers to James Bond.
