<blockquote>MATT CHAPMAN: Once we started making cartoons, it was kind of hard not to just let [video game] stuff seep into it. We were huge Activision aficionados as kids[,] so we decided to invent a fictitious company that we could then have as an excuse to make bad video games on our cartoon even though it had nothing to do with our cartoon. So we invented Videlectrix.</blockquote>
Videlectrix is a video game developer that &quot;makes&quot; most of the games seen on homestarrunner.com. From 2003 onwards, nearly all Homestar Runner games have been presented as being developed by Videlectrix.

Videlectrix has three known subsidiaries, Videlectrix Films, which is responsible for the Peasant's Quest movie and Litigation Jackson, Videlectrix Media, which manufactures CD-Rs, the type of which is used for Strong Bad Sings and Other Type Hits, and Videlectrix Kidx, which produces the Taranchula metal detector used in the email buried and the Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People game series. Although the board game company Boardelectrix and the toy company Kidelectrix have similar names to Videlectrix, the relationship between these three companies is unknown.

The website was originally located at "videlectrix.com", before it was moved to "homestarrunner.com/videlectrix". Between October and November 2019, the domain name "videlectrix.com" expired, and was briefly owned by squatters. Several pages, including the Games menu, still contained links to that site during this time. The domain now consists of a frame that shows the homestarrunner.com version of the website.

Videlectrix was first mentioned in the game Awexome Cross. Although vociferously obsessed with good graphics, their games are noticeably out-of-date; most Videlectrix games are roughly on par with the Atari 2600, Nintendo Entertainment System, or similar '70s-'80s era technology.

Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, developed by real-world company Telltale Games, was framed as Telltale &quot;collaborating&quot; with Videlectrix. In a similar manner, Dangeresque: The Roomisode Triungulate's Steam page lists the game as being developed and published by Videlectrix.

<blockquote>Since the beginning of organized time, or shortly thereafter, the 'Trix, as they are sometimes known, has been at all four fronts of the electronic video gaming industry, providing lo-res entertainment to parents and children alike. In the early years, The Big V, as they are othertimes known, got their start by typing numbers into calculators and then turning the calculators upside down to form words. In 2003, they partnered with Homestarrunner.com and released the arcade peasant-masher Trogdor! They've since followed up with hit after hit, including next-gen text adventure Peasant's Quest, side scrolling platformer Stinkoman 20X6, and the unforgettable Color Television Calibration Cartridge. Vid'rix looks forward to working with Telltale Games and finding out just exactly what it is they do.</blockquote>

Good graphics are a must.

Videlectrix is a fictitious video game company that "makes" most of the games seen on homestarrunner.com, first mentioned in the game Awexome Cross. The brains behind the company Videlectrix were the cover story for January 2005's issue of Stookley's Hundredaire Socialite, as seen in an Easter egg of the Strong Bad Email part-time job. In reality, the employees seen are The Brothers Chaps in fake mustaches.

Easter Eggs

 • Clicking on the blow up reading "starring the popular RON PLANET!" while viewing the Duck Guardian 2 box will send you to Ron Planet. This is a side project by Craig Zobel and Matt Chapman.
 • The mp3 file for Stinkoman Level 1 Theme has a description that says "00000605 0000010F 000027AE 0000116E 00007E53 000074BC 00005EF8 00007053 00003C68 000065F0". It is unknown what this is supposed to mean, but it may be a video game code.
