Store Freebies
Freebies, or free pieces of merchandise, were given away for a time with purchases made in the Yahoo Store.
Yahoo Store Freebies
Originally, the freebie received was based on the total amount of merchandise ordered, prior to shipping and handling charges. Gift certificate purchases were not eligible for freebies. The selection changed over time, hence why some dollar amounts are listed with multiple freebies.
As supplies dwindled, the method of distributing freebies changed. Beginning in October 2009, a "grab bag" system was implemented where a single random freebie would be given regardless of the order amount. The freebie system was put on hold in June 2011 due to a lack of supplies. Sometime between August 7 and September 25 of 2011, a notice was placed on the Freebies page stating that a free bumper sticker would be offered with each order "starting in October"; however, the page was not updated again before the Yahoo store's closure in 2015.
