'''sloshy''' (stylized in lowercase) is a [[lo-fi]] [[alternative rock]] band. The band's general appearance and apathetic affect parody influential grunge/alt-rock bands that saw success in the 90s, such as [[Nirvana (band)|Nirvana]], [[Weezer]], and [[Pavement (band)|Pavement]]. The band has a minimized presence onstage: wearing street clothes rather than formal outfits or special costumes, only using a few Christmas lights in lieu of special effects, and may even perform with their backs turned to the audience (in reference to adjacent alt-rock subgenre [[shoegaze]]). One of sloshy's most noticeable traits is backup singing consisting of bland, echo-filtered repetition of previous lines.

Though they first appeared in 2007, [[Homestar Runner universe|in-universe]] the band has been around since approximately 2001. The band's first appearance was in the [[Strong Bad Email]] [[concert]], which established them as one of [[Strong Sad]]'s favorite bands. sloshy were opening for [[Limozeen]], but as the headliner's contract rider was unfulfilled sloshy played both sets. They briefly became one of Strong Bad's favorite bands until he realized they are not [[Heavy Metal|metal]]. The [[Page Titles|page title]] of [[Limozeen vs. sloshy]] ("The Label Made Us Do It!") suggests that sloshy and [[Limozeen]] are signed to the same record label, and the extreme contrasts in their [[Style|style]] are often emphasized for comedy. A fictionalized version of sloshy appear as the antagonists in [[Limozeen vs. sloshy|an episode]] of ''[[Limozeen: "but they're in space!"]]''.

The ''sloshy'' [[Wordmark (graphic identity)|wordmark]] is typically rotated 180 degrees with ''o'' printed in a contrasting color, usually red ('''ʎɥsols''').

The band's initial lineup was a trio:
