* Homestar's mouth is in the same shape as in the book when he says "Where my hat is at?"
* This is the second tenth anniversary remake of a book, the first being [[Strongest Man in the World]]. In both cases, the conclusion is changed from the original book, but Homestar still expects the original conclusion to take place.
** Homestar's opening lines mimic what he said at the beginning of [[Strongest Man in the World]].
* Almost all of the scenes of the cartoon are taken directly from the original book. A few images are different, however. For example, the refrigerator contents are in a different order in the cartoon. Also, the meat on the grill is a ribeye in the book and a T-bone in the cartoon.

* There is a large clickable area just outside the frame to the top-left corner of the screen. Clicking it doesn't seem to do anything.
* Homestar somehow had a colden one on his way to the game, but never actually gets one out of the refrigerator. He also does not seem to have it at the game.
* It seems that the sun is setting as Homestar walks down the road, but the sky is light again once he leaves his house.
* When Homestar is kicking the can of soup, the word "soup" is always right side up, even when the can is upside-down.
* Homestar's "auto" has no doors.
