In the 1980s and '90s in the United States, '''milk cartons''' were often printed with a photo and description of a missing child, in the hopes that someone would find the child and bring him or her back to safety. Though this practice has largely faded from use, it is sometimes referenced in [[Homestar Runner (body of work)|Homestar Runner]] cartoons.
