'''Fire[[Names ending in -bert|bert]]''' is [[The Cheat]]'s commando name, originating in the [[Strong Bad Email]] [[army]]. He insists on being called this whenever he goes on a commando mission for [[Strong Bad]]. His uniform consists of a black two-piece stealth suit with a black snow cap over the top corner of his head.

The Cheat also portrays Firebert as a character in fictional productions seen in the [[Homestar Runner universe]]. Firebert is a member of the [[Cheat Commandos]], also appearing in a [[Puppet Time|puppet]] crossover with the [[Dangeresque (film series)|Dangeresque series]]. Firebert is one of the Cheat Commandos featured in the first Cheat Commandos [[Store Toys|figurine set]].

Firebert is one of the main characters in the ''[[Cheat Commandos|Cheat Commandos Adventures]]'' cartoon show. While all the other characters speak normally, Firebert [[Lack of Intelligible Speech|seems to be voiced by The Cheat]]; much like The Cheat, other characters have no difficulty understanding what he saying. Before he was heard to speak in a cartoon, Strong Bad used a typical voice when playing with the Firebert [[Action Figure Character Variations|action figure]] in the [[Cheat Commandos (toon)|Cheat Commandos commercial]].

Firebert may be the team's demolitions expert: in the original commercial, he is seen blowing up a large cliff with [[Blue Laser]] operatives directly below it. Firebert can and will eat anything with nutmeg on it, and used this to a tactical advantage by eating Christmas lights restraining him and [[Dangeresque (character)|Dangeresque]].

The packaging for the Firebert action figure similarly emphasizes that it is "Not a Good Commando Name!!" in lieu of a standard promotional line. This disapproval extends to the cartoon, where [[Gunhaver]] assigns him to think of a better commando name rather than join the team [[Shopping For Danger|on a mission]]. [[Flashfight]], whose thoughts and actions often run contrary to Gunhaver, considers Firebert to be "an exquisite commando name". The negativity has not gotten to The Cheat, who has made no attempt to change his commando name.

In another instance of less-than-positive reception, The Cheat made a public appearance as "TV's Firebert" at the [[more armies|Vaguely Military Career Fair]]. After some time with no visitors, he dejectedly changed the booth's sign to "[[Trogdor]]" instead of "Firebert", which immediately drew a large crowd.

When brainstorming commando names for The Cheat to use in the army email, [[The Brothers Chaps]] [[@StrongBadActual Tweets 2017|assembled a list of many names]]. Most of these would go on to be used by the Cheat Commandos cast.
